Okay, so I was super curious about where they filmed “Geek Girl,” you know, that show with Emily Carey. She plays this awkward, kinda quirky teen, and I just had to find out where all those scenes took place. I’m a bit of a location nerd, I guess.
First, I started with a basic Google search, nothing fancy. Just typed in something like “Geek Girl filming locations.” And boom, a bunch of stuff popped up.
General locations
- Found out it was mainly filmed in two places: London in the UK and Ottawa in Canada. Two totally different vibes, right?
Then, I dug a little deeper. Found this website, can’t remember the name, but it was all about filming spots. They had a whole section on “Geek Girl.” Apparently, there were some key spots in London that they used a lot.
London locations
- North Greenwich – I guess they shot some scenes there. I’ve never been, but it sounds kinda cool.
- Dalston and Hackney – These are more like, trendy, artsy areas, from what I gather. Maybe they used those for some of the school scenes or something?
- Southwark and Waterloo – These are more central London, I think. Probably some iconic landmarks in the background there.
As for Ottawa, I’m less familiar with the specific spots. The website just mentioned Ottawa in general. But it makes sense, I guess. Canada is a popular place to film, lots of different landscapes and stuff.
It’s kinda cool to know where a show is filmed, right? Makes it feel more real somehow. Like, you could actually go to those places and stand where Emily Carey stood. Anyway, that’s what I found out. Might not be everything, but it’s a good start if you’re curious about “Geek Girl” like I was.
Oh, and I saw that Jemima Rooper, Sarah Parish, and Tim Downie are also in the show. They’re all great actors, so that’s a plus. Definitely makes me want to watch it even more!
