Okay, so I saw this “Stakt Mat” thing on Shark Tank, and I was like, “Hmm, that looks interesting.” I’m always looking for ways to make my workouts, especially yoga, a little easier on my joints. Plus, I’m terrible at keeping my mat rolled up neatly, so the folding design really caught my eye.
My Stakt Mat Journey
First Step: The Purchase
I went ahead and ordered one. Decided to try it out. I mean, the Sharks seemed to like it, right?

Unboxing and First Impressions
It arrived, and my first thought was, “Wow, this thing is heavier than I expected!” It’s definitely not your flimsy, roll-up yoga mat. It’s got some heft to it, which I guess makes sense since it’s supposed to be more supportive. The material felt pretty good, though – nice and thick.
Putting It to the Test
- Yoga Time: My first test run was a basic yoga flow. I immediately noticed the difference in cushioning. My knees and wrists felt way better than on my old mat. It was a big win.
- Folding Fun (and Frustration): The folding part is cool, but it took me a few tries to get the hang of it. It’s not rocket science, but there’s a specific way you have to fold it to get it compact. I definitely fumbled around with it for a bit.
- HIIT workout: I then do some workout that requires a lot of movement. It really support my weight very well!
- Storage Situation: Once I figured out the folding, storing it was a breeze. It folds up pretty small and stands up on its own, which is perfect for my tiny apartment.
The Verdict (So Far)
After using it, I’m pretty happy with my Stakt Mat. It’s definitely an upgrade from my old mat in terms of comfort and support. I have used it several times and I like it so far.
It’s early, and I’m still getting the hang of the folding, but overall, I think it’s a solid product. It is convenient, and good for small spaces.
