Alright, so today I’m gonna tell y’all about my little adventure trying to find the house from the movie “Step Brothers.” You know, that hilarious movie with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly? Yeah, that one. I’m a big fan, so I got it in my head that I just had to see where they filmed some of it.
First, I did a bit of digging online, ’cause, well, you gotta start somewhere, right? I found out that a lot of the movie was shot in South Pasadena and Altadena, California. And, the house, the one where Dale and Brennan become stepbrothers and all that craziness happens, that’s supposed to be in Altadena. So that’s where I needed to go.
After going through some websites, I found that some folks were saying the house is on Midwick Drive. The address they were throwing around was 1987 Midwick Drive. It was supposed to be near North Allen Avenue. Sounded easy enough, or so I thought.
So, I hopped in my car and started to drive that way. Let me tell you, finding a place based on what you read online isn’t always as straightforward as it seems. Street signs were hard to see, and I ended up driving around in circles for a bit. Felt kinda silly, to be honest.
Finally, I decided to park and just walk around the area. I figured, even if I didn’t find the exact house, I’d still be in the right neighborhood. And you know what? I think I did get pretty close. The houses there definitely had that same vibe from the movie – you know, that nice, suburban feel. I took some pictures of the area, just to remember the whole thing.

The Results
Did I find the exact “Step Brothers” house? Honestly, I’m not 100% sure. But I definitely got close, and it was still a fun little adventure. It’s kinda cool to see a place that was in a movie you like, even if it’s just the general area. It was a good day, though. Sometimes, it’s not just about the destination, but the journey, right? And hey, at least I got out of the house and did something different. Plus, I got some new photos that I like from that neighborhood. Maybe next time I’ll do more research and find that house for sure!
