Visiting Filming Location Broadchurch: Must See Spots for Fans

Alright, let’s talk about that Broadchurch show, you know, the one on TV. People keep askin’ where they filmed it, like it’s some big secret. Well, it ain’t no secret, I’ll tell ya. Most of it, they filmed it down in Dorset. Yeah, Dorset, that place with the cliffs and the sea.

West Bay, that’s the main spot. You seen those big cliffs on the show? That’s West Bay. They filmed a whole bunch of stuff there, the beach and all. I heard tell some of them actors, they stayed in Bridport, at a place called The Bull Hotel. Fancy, huh?

Now, this fella, Chris Chibnall, he’s the one who wrote the show. He’s from around there, Dorset way. He wanted the place to be a big part of the story, you know, like another character. He said it was a “love letter” to the scenery. Sounds about right, it’s real pretty down there, even if the show’s all gloomy and mysterious.

  • West Bay: Big cliffs, the beach, lots of scenes filmed there.
  • Bridport: Some actors stayed at The Bull Hotel.

They say that East Cliff and the beach, they were real important for settin’ the mood. You know, all dramatic and whatnot. And that little village of West Bay, it’s been a holiday spot for ages. Good food, friendly folks, they say. I ain’t been myself, but that’s what they say.

Then there’s the third season, they went a bit further out. Filmed some of it in Avonmouth, that’s near Bristol. And in some places called North Allington and other parishes. They went all over the place that season, it seems. Not just stickin’ to one spot.

So, if you wanna go see where they filmed Broadchurch, you gotta head down to Dorset. West Bay, that’s your main stop. You can see them cliffs, the beach, maybe even find that hotel where the actors stayed. It’s all there, just like on TV.

Now, they filmed a bunch of other stuff there too, not just Broadchurch. But that’s the one everyone seems to ask about. People are funny that way, gettin’ all excited about TV shows. Me, I’m more excited about a good cup of tea and a biscuit, but that’s just me.

Anyways, if you’re plannin’ a trip, Dorset sounds like a nice place to visit. Even if you ain’t into that Broadchurch show, you got the cliffs, the sea, the food. What more could you want? It’s pretty country, that’s for sure. They say the scenery is just like a character in the show. That writer fella, he knew what he was doing, making that place look all mysterious and dramatic.

And let me tell you, it ain’t just that show that’s filmed in real places. All sorts of shows and movies, they film them all over the place. You got shows filmed in big cities, in the mountains, by the sea. It’s everywhere! Makes you think, doesn’t it? You could be walkin’ down the street and not even know you’re walkin’ through a movie set.

So next time you’re watchin’ TV, pay attention to the background. See if you recognize anything. Might just be somewhere you’ve been, or somewhere you could go. And if you ever find yourself down in Dorset, well, now you know where they filmed Broadchurch. Go take a look, see if it’s as pretty as they say. But don’t blame me if it’s not, I’m just tellin’ you what I heard.

And that’s the long and short of it. People get all worked up about these TV shows, but at the end of the day, it’s just a story, filmed in a real place. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I got things to do. This tea ain’t gonna drink itself.
