Alright, alright, settle down, y’all. Let’s talk about them movies, like that Cloverfield thing. You know, the one with all the shaky camera stuff and the big monster? Yeah, that one. Scared the bejesus outta me, it did. But, if you’re like me and you kinda like gettin’ your pants scared off, then listen up, ‘cause I got some more movies just like it for ya.
First off, if you liked that Cloverfield, you gotta check out that 10 Cloverfield Lane. Same kinda creepy feelin’, but this time it’s all stuck in a bunker. Real spooky stuff, let me tell ya. Keeps you guessin’ ’til the very end. And then, there’s the original Cloverfield from 2008. That one’s a real doozy, with all the runnin’ around and screamin’. Just the way I like it, ha!
Now, if you want somethin’ with a bit more shootin’ and fightin’, but still got that end-of-the-world feelin’, then you gotta see World War Z. Lots of zombies in that one, runnin’ around like crazy chickens. Gave me the shivers, it did. But it’s good, real good. You can find it on that Amazon thingy, or maybe that Netflix too. Don’t ask me how to work them things, though. My grandkid does all that for me.

- Super 8 (2011) – Another monster movie, but with kids. Reminds me of when I was young, always gettin’ into trouble.
Then there’s some others, like that Battle: Los Angeles. That one’s got aliens and soldiers and a whole lotta explosions. Loud, it is, but good loud. And if you like them movies with kids in ‘em, like them Stranger Things kids, then you gotta see Super 8. Another monster movie, but these kids are tryin’ to film a movie when all the craziness happens. Reminds me of when I was young, always gettin’ into trouble.
Folks keep tellin’ me there’s a whole bunch of movies like Cloverfield. Heard tell there’s somethin’ like 79 of ‘em! Can you believe that? That’s a lot of monsters and scary stuff. Don’t know where you find all them movies, but my grandkid says there’s this thing called Letterboxd, and it tells ya all about ‘em. Sounds like hogwash to me, but the young’uns know these things.
Now, some folks like them scary movies that mess with your head, you know, those psychological thrillers. And some like the ones with ghosts and ghouls, the supernatural stuff. And then there’s the mystery thrillers, the ones that keep you guessin’ ’til the end. Cloverfield, it’s kinda all them things rolled into one, ain’t it? That’s why it’s so darn good.
They say you can find these movies on all them fancy things, like Netflix, and iTunes, and that Amazon again. Too much for this old gal to figure out. But if you got one of them smarty-pants kids or grandkids, get ‘em to help ya. They know all about this stuff.

But they’re good spooky, the kind that gets your heart pumpin’ and your blood flowin’. And that’s what makes ‘em so darn fun to watch, even if you gotta hide behind a pillow every now and then.
Now, go on and watch some movies. And don’t forget to turn off the lights, it makes it scarier that way. But maybe keep a light on in the hall, just in case. You never know what might be lurkin’ in the shadows. Heh, just kiddin’! Mostly….
