Well now, let me tell you about the ending of that show, “The Killing,” season 4. Now, I ain’t one for fancy talk, but I can tell ya this much, the last season of that show sure left a lot of folks with their mouths hanging open. If you’ve been watchin’ it all along, you know it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. You start out with one thing in mind, and before you know it, it’s somethin’ totally different. But, if you ask me, they sure tied up them loose ends in the end.
Now, let’s talk about that detective, Sarah Linden. Oh, that woman, she sure had a tough time. By the end of the last season, she’s gone through more than most folks ever will in their whole lives. She’s been on this case from the very start, tryin’ to solve the murder of Rosie Larsen. And, well, it seems like she’s finally found some peace with it all. But it ain’t easy. She got some things to confess, like how she killed Skinner. Can you believe that? Killed him herself! Told Reddick about it, and just like that, it’s all out in the open. But the mayor, he ain’t havin’ none of that. He wants everything swept under the rug, calls it a suicide. Ain’t that somethin’?
Now, let me tell ya about Holder. That fella, he’s been through the ringer too, with all them twists and turns in the case. But in the end, he and Linden, well, they end up together again. After all the heartache and the mess, they stick together like glue. Ain’t that sweet? I suppose it’s a happy ending of sorts, though I reckon some folks might’ve been hopin’ for somethin’ a little more dramatic. But in the end, it’s just them, side by side, ready to face whatever comes next in Seattle. Ain’t nothing wrong with that, is there?
Some people, they say the show didn’t get the attention it deserved. AMC was ready to cancel it, sure as day, but Netflix swooped in and gave it a little more life. You gotta wonder, though, if they’d kept it going longer, what more could’ve happened? But like I said, it wrapped up nice and neat, for better or worse.
But one thing’s for sure—Linden’s character sure didn’t end up like most folks thought she would. She wasn’t all high and mighty or perfect. She had her demons, just like everybody else. And Holder, well, he wasn’t just some sidekick. They both played their parts in that mess, and they came out on the other side still standin’.
So, if you’re one of them folks who been followin’ the show from the start, I reckon you’d agree—season 4 brought it to a close. They gave us some answers, sure, but also left a few things open to the imagination. But, if you ask me, that’s how life goes. Not everything’s wrapped up with a pretty bow. Sometimes you just gotta make peace with what you got.
Now, I don’t know if this was the best ending in the world, but it was good enough for me. Ain’t every show needs to go out with a big bang. Sometimes, just keepin’ it simple is the way to go. Ain’t that right?
