Alright, let’s talk about this movie, “I Believe in Santa.” I watched it the other day, you know, with the grandkids. Kids loved it, of course. Me? Well, it was alright, I guess. Kinda sweet, kinda silly, just like them Christmas movies always are.
The story, you see, it’s about this woman, Lisa. She’s got a little girl, Ella. And Lisa, she meets this fella, Tom, at some kinda Fourth of July thing. Fireworks and all that. They hit it off, you know, like folks do. Start datin’ and such.
Now, Tom, he’s a good man, seems like. But he’s got a secret. A big one. He believes in Santa Claus. Like, really believes. Not just for the kids, but for real real. Lisa, she don’t buy it for a second. Thinks it’s crazy talk.
So, that’s where the trouble starts. Lisa, she’s practical, you know? Down to earth. Tom, he’s… well, he’s a dreamer, I guess you could say. Believes in magic and all that. They start bickerin’, like couples do. This Santa thing, it becomes a real wedge between ’em.
And little Ella, she’s caught in the middle. She loves Tom, and she wants her momma to be happy. But she also loves Christmas, and Santa, of course. She’s just a kid, ya know? She believes what she believes.
- It got me thinkin’ though. What’s so wrong with believin’ in somethin’, even if it ain’t real?
- Makes the world a little brighter, don’t it? Especially around Christmas time.
- We all need a little somethin’ to believe in, I reckon.
Anyways, the movie goes on, and Lisa, she tries to understand Tom. She really does. But it ain’t easy. She’s got her own way of lookin’ at things, and Tom’s got his. It’s like they’re speakin’ different languages sometimes.
And there’s this competition, too. A Christmas somethin’-or-other. Tom’s in it, and Lisa’s supposed to support him. But she’s still got doubts. Still not sure she can handle this whole Santa thing.
But then, you know, things change. They always do in these movies. Lisa starts to see things from Tom’s perspective. She realizes that maybe, just maybe, believin’ in somethin’ ain’t so bad after all. Maybe it’s even… good.
They have a little falling out, a real bad one. Lisa almost gives up on Tom, you know, thinks he’s just plain crazy. But then, somethin’ happens. Ella, that little girl, she makes a wish. A Christmas wish. And it involves Tom and Lisa gettin’ back together. Kids, they got a way of doin’ that, you know? Makin’ you see what’s really important.
So, after the competition, Lisa and Tom, they make up. And wouldn’t you know it, Tom proposes! Right there, in the snow, like somethin’ out of a picture book. Lisa, she says yes, of course. Makes Ella’s wish come true, and everyone’s happy.
And that Santa fella? Well, he kinda disappears at the end. Just his suit and a business card left behind. Kinda mysterious, I guess. But it don’t really matter, does it? The point is, Lisa and Tom, they found their way back to each other. And they learned to accept each other, even with all their crazy beliefs.
It ain’t a perfect movie, mind you. A little cheesy in spots. But it’s got heart. And it reminds you that love, well, it can conquer just about anything. Even a belief in Santa Claus. So, if you’re lookin’ for a feel-good Christmas movie, somethin’ to watch with the family, “I Believe in Santa” ain’t a bad choice. Just don’t expect it to change your life or nothin’. It’s just a movie, after all.
And that’s all there is to it. They get hitched, and the little girl gets her Christmas wish. Happily ever after, you know the drill. Just like all them stories. Makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, even if it ain’t real life.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some cookies. Christmas is comin’ up, and I got mouths to feed.
