Okay, so today I wanna talk about something I’ve been messing around with lately – it’s called Sparketh. It’s basically this website where you can learn all kinds of art stuff. I stumbled upon it a while back when I was looking for ways to brush up on my drawing skills, and I figured, why not give it a shot?
Getting Started
First off, I headed over to the Sparketh website. The whole thing seemed pretty straightforward. You got this big library of video lessons, apparently over a thousand of them. They’re aimed at kids and teens, but hey, I’m a firm believer that you’re never too old to learn something new, right? They’ve got lessons on all sorts of art, like drawing, painting, even some digital stuff.
Diving into the Lessons
So, I signed up for the yearly thing. I am not good at keeping up with monthly payments. Seemed like a decent deal, and it gave me access to everything they had. The videos are led by these young artists, and honestly, they’re pretty good. I started with some basic drawing exercises, just to get back into the groove. The lessons were easy to follow, and I liked that they had downloadable files to go along with them. I actually drew for an hour a day for a week.
Trying Different Things
After I felt a bit more confident, I decided to branch out. I tried some of the painting lessons, which was a whole new ball game for me. I’ve always been more of a pencil-and-paper kind of guy, but I figured it was time to get out of my comfort zone. It was messy, and I definitely made some mistakes, but it was also a lot of fun. I even dabbled in some of the digital art lessons, which was surprisingly cool. And I also learned some new skills.
The Shark Tank Connection
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Apparently, Sparketh was on Shark Tank a while back. I didn’t even know that when I signed up. But I found out that the founders, Dwayne Walker and Tim Samuel, they pitched their idea to the Sharks and actually got a deal. It was some kind of contingency deal with Barbara Corcoran and Daniel Lubetzky. They offered to mentor the guys and put in some money. I thought that was pretty neat.
Keeping at It
So, I’ve been using Sparketh for a while now, and I gotta say, I’m pretty happy with it. I found it’s a fun way to learn new art skills, and I like that I can do it at my own pace. They’re always adding new lessons, so there’s always something new to try. I’m not saying I’m gonna become some famous artist or anything, but it’s definitely been a worthwhile experience.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a way to learn some art stuff, I’d say give Sparketh a try. It’s not perfect, but it’s a solid platform with a lot to offer. And who knows, maybe you’ll discover a hidden talent you never knew you had. I definitely improved my art skills. Plus, it’s just a fun way to spend some time and be creative. Just don’t expect to become a master overnight, art is about time and hard work. Keep at it, and you’ll see results eventually!
