Okay, so, I’ve been on this huge nostalgia kick lately, right? And it all started with me rewatching “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” – you know, the live-action one with Melissa Joan Hart. Man, that show was my jam back in the day! But then, it got me thinking about the cartoon version, “Sabrina the Animated Series.” I used to watch that one too, religiously, every Saturday morning.
So, I got this itch to find more shows like it. I mean, that blend of magic, high school drama, and just plain fun – it’s a winning combo! I started by, you know, just kinda poking around the internet, seeing what I could find. - Totally Spies! – Okay, this one’s a bit of a stretch, but hear me out. Three best friends, secret identities, cool gadgets… it’s got that same vibe of balancing normal life with some crazy adventures. Plus, the animation style is awesome.
- The Owl House – This one I found through some forum where people were comparing it to “Gravity Falls” which is another show I like. It’s about a human girl who stumbles into a magical world and decides to become a witch. Sounds familiar, right? I’ve only watched a few episodes, but I’m already hooked.
- W.I.T.C.H. – Five teenage girls, chosen to protect the world from evil with their elemental powers. I remember this one from when I was younger. It’s got that whole magical girl power thing going on, which I love. It’s a bit darker than Sabrina, but in a good way.
I spent a good chunk of my weekend just diving into these shows. I started with “The Owl House” because it was the one I was most curious about. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! It’s got this quirky humor that I love, and the characters are all so unique and interesting. I especially love King, he’s hilarious!
Then I moved on to “W.I.T.C.H.” I wanted to revisit it, to see if it holds up after all this time, you know? And it totally does! The story is actually pretty complex, and the characters go through some real growth. Plus, the animation is pretty solid for an older show.
Finally, I decided to give “Totally Spies!” a try. I was a bit hesitant at first, ’cause it’s not exactly “magical,” but I’m glad I did. It’s just pure, unadulterated fun. The missions are exciting, the characters are lovable, and the whole thing is just so stylish.
And guess what? I realized that the voice of Sabrina in “Sabrina the Animated Series” was done by Melissa Joan Hart’s younger sister, Emily Hart! How cool is that?
