Okay, so I’ve been meaning to dive into this whole “find shows similar to Bee and Puppycat” thing for a while now. It’s one of those shows that just sticks with you, you know? Super unique vibe, and I needed more of that in my life.
My Little Quest
First, I started by just, like, remembering what I loved about Bee and Puppycat. The dreamy atmosphere, the weird jobs, the cute characters, the whole magical-girl-but-not-really thing. That was my baseline.
Then, I hit up the usual places. You know, I went to the places on the internet that suggest what shows to watch. I typed in “Bee and Puppycat,” and, well, it gave me some options. I jotted down a few that seemed promising, based on the little descriptions and the pictures.

- Adventure Time: Yeah, I’d seen a bunch of this already, but it definitely has that similar “anything can happen” feeling.
- Steven Universe: Also one I’d dipped into. The whole gem thing is kinda like the magical girl stuff, and it gets surprisingly deep.
- Over the Garden Wall: This one I hadn’t seen! The art style looked really cool, kinda old-timey and spooky.
My next step was to actually, you know, watch some of these shows. I figured I’d give each one a few episodes to see if it clicked.
I started with Over the Garden Wall, and wow, it was GOOD. Super short, only like ten episodes, but it had that same melancholic, beautiful vibe as Bee and Puppycat. Not as much with the temp jobs, but the overall feeling was there.
Then I went back to Steven Universe. I’d seen some before, but I decided to start from the beginning. It’s definitely got more action than Bee and Puppycat, but the characters are great, and the story gets really interesting. You can tell that these have been written by the same group of people.
Finally, I checked some lists that other people had made. It’s not a bad place to check, right? And for sure this is something that I’m going to keep doing. I need to keep tabs on this so that I have suggestions at the ready.
So, that’s where I’m at! I’ve got a few solid options to fill that Bee and Puppycat void, and a plan to keep exploring. It’s all about the journey, right? This has got me thinking about all kinds of animation now, and I can say for sure that I’ll keep trying out shows!
