Okay, so today I decided to dig into something I’ve been curious about for a while – the connection between Shawnie Mulligan and Ron Braden. I’d heard their names mentioned together in a few drumming circles, and I wanted to see what the deal was.

First, I fired up Google, my trusty research companion. I just typed in “Shawnie Mulligan Ron Braden” and hit enter. I scrolled through a bunch of stuff about drumming, clinics, that sort of thing.
It looks that I quickly realized that both of them is a great master level * I found out that they’re both super respected in the drumming world.
I spent a good chunk of the afternoon watching some videos. I found some old clinic footage – the quality wasn’t amazing, but it was good enough to get a sense of their styles. Shawnie’s got this really fluid, almost effortless way of playing. And Ron, man, that guy’s got power and precision!
Putting it Together
So, after all this digging, what did I figure out? They have some relation in terms of drummer *’re both incredible drummers, educators. And they’re connected through this lineage of great players. It’s like this whole network of talent, passing down knowledge and inspiration.
Honestly, this little research session got me super inspired to practice. I even tried to incorporate a couple of the licks I saw them playing. Didn’t sound quite as smooth, but hey, gotta start somewhere, right?
