Shark Tanks Honey Bunches: The Pitch and Deal Details.

Shark Tanks Honey Bunches: The Pitch and Deal Details.

Okay, so I saw this episode of Shark Tank with “Honey Bunches” and I was like, “I gotta try making these!” It looked so messy and fun, and who doesn’t love a good, sticky treat?

First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I’m talking about the basics: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, eggs, and of course, honey. I also got some cinnamon and oil for frying, because that’s where the magic happens.

Then I mixed the dry ingredients in one bowl – flour, sugar, that sort of thing. In another bowl, I whisked together the wet stuff: milk, eggs, and a bit of melted butter (because why not?).

Next, I combined the wet and dry ingredients. Now, the Shark Tank people made it look super easy, like the batter was just perfect. Mine? Not so much. It was kinda lumpy at first, so I had to keep stirring until it was mostly smooth. It was giving my arms a work out!

Frying Time

  • I poured a good amount of oil into a pan and heated it up.
  • I tested the oil by flicking a little water in, and it started to pop, which is a sign that the oil is hot enough.

Once the oil was hot, I dropped spoonfuls of batter into the pan. This is where things got interesting. They started to puff up and turn golden brown, and the smell? Amazing. It was like a bakery exploded in my kitchen.

I flipped them over to make sure they cooked evenly. They were looking pretty good, but I’m no pro, so some were definitely more “rustic” looking than others. Let’s just say they had character.

After they were all nicely fried, I took them out and put them on a plate lined with paper towels to soak up any extra oil.

The Honey Glaze

Now for the best part – the honey glaze! I mixed together honey, a little more melted butter, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It was sticky and gooey, and I may or may not have licked the spoon. Several times.

I drizzled (okay, more like drenched) the honey glaze all over those warm, fluffy bunches. They were glistening and looked absolutely delicious.

Finally, I took a bite, and… wow. They were sweet, sticky, and totally worth the mess. They weren’t exactly like the ones on Shark Tank, but hey, they were my own homemade version, and I was pretty proud of myself.

I highly recommend people to try making their own, it’s really delicious!
