Well, let me tell ya, I heard about this Michelle Wolf fella, or maybe it’s a gal, hard to keep track these days. Anyways, they’re doin’ some kinda show in that there Barcelona place. Barcelona, Spain, that is. Fancy, huh?
Now, I ain’t never been to no Barcelona, but I reckon it’s a big city. They say this Michelle is a big deal too, some kinda “comedy great” they call ’em. Comedy? Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but folks seem to like it. This Michelle, they’re gonna be doin’ some jokes, tellin’ stories, makin’ people laugh, I guess.
They sayin’ it’s a “stand-up comedy” show. Stand-up? Like, they ain’t got no chairs? Must be tirin’ on the feet. And this “extended set” thing? Sounds like they gonna be talkin’ for a long, long time. Hope they got some water handy, all that jabberin’ can make a person thirsty.
They’re also sayin’ somethin’ ’bout “new material for her upcoming US tour”. Tour? Like, they goin’ all over the place? Must be nice to travel, see the world. But I reckon it’s hard work too, packin’ and unpackin’, sleepin’ in strange beds. And that “US tour” thing, that means they comin’ to America, huh? Maybe they’ll come visit our little town, wouldn’t that be somethin’?

This show, they havin’ it at a place called… uh… “below La Textil” somethin’ or other. And they say it’s “classy and intimate”. Classy? Like, with fancy tablecloths and all? Intimate? Means it’s small, I reckon. Not like them big stadiums where they play football. This is probably more like a… a little room, maybe? With a stage and some lights?
They sayin’ this Michelle is a “superstar”. Superstar? Like in the movies? I don’t watch no movies, too much fuss and bother. But I guess if they a superstar, they must be good at what they do. This comedy thing, it’s a mystery to me. But folks seem to like it, so there must be somethin’ to it.
They also said somethin’ about “English Comedy in Barcelona”. So, they gonna be speakin’ English, huh? Well, that’s good, I guess. Wouldn’t want ’em jabberin’ in some foreign tongue I can’t understand. And it’s on a Thursday, they say. Thursdays are good days, not too far from the weekend.
And another place says the show is on a “Sunday” at the “Barcelona Improv Group”. Improv? Is that like makin’ it up as they go along? Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me, but what do I know? Seems like there’s a few shows, maybe? Hard to keep track of all these details, my head’s spinnin’.
So, if you’re in Barcelona and you like this “comedy” stuff, you might wanna check out this Michelle Wolf person. Me? I’ll stick to my garden and my chickens. Less noise, and I understand what they’re sayin’ a whole lot better. But hey, to each their own, I always say. If people wanna laugh, let ’em laugh. The world needs more laughter, I reckon, even if I don’t always get the joke.
This Michelle, seems like they workin’ hard, travelin’ all over, tellin’ jokes. It ain’t easy, I bet. So, good for them, I say. Good for them.
