Okay, so the other day I was going down this rabbit hole of true crime stuff, as one does, and I stumbled upon this whole thing about Jeffrey Dahmer’s prom picture. It’s super creepy, but I was curious, so I decided to dig in.
Finding the Picture
First, I just did a simple search. Nothing fancy, just typed in “jeffrey dahmer prom picture” and hit enter. The image results were kinda overwhelming, to be honest. There were a lot of photos, some claiming to be the prom picture, others that were clearly not.
I spent a good chunk of time sifting through all of these. I used that reverse image search thing too, to see where else the photos popped up. That helped me weed out some of the fakes or mislabeled ones.
Checking It Out
I found a few that looked promising, usually on those true crime websites or forums. I opened them in new tabs and started comparing.
- Looking at the details. Things like the clothes, the hairstyles, the background…did they match the time period when Dahmer would have been in high school?
- Cross-referencing. I tried to find multiple sources for the same photo. If it only showed up on one sketchy site, I was suspicious.
My Thoughts
After all that digging, I did find one picture that seemed legit. It was on a few reputable (well, as reputable as you can get with true crime) sites, and the details seemed to check out. It’s a black and white photo, really grainy, and you can see this awkward-looking kid with glasses…it’s chilling. it. I found a few pictures which matched the actual photo.
It’s one of those things where you’re looking at it, and you know what this person went on to do, and it just sends shivers down your spine. I kept the picture that looks legit in a folder. It’s just part of History!
