Alright, so, you wanna know about this Micah Holsonbake fella and Bakersfield, huh? Well, let me tell ya, it’s a real sad story, this whole thing. They found a bone, see? A bone, out in Maricopa, and it turns out it belonged to Micah. Poor boy.
Now, Bakersfield, that’s a place where things happen, you know? They call it “Nashville West” sometimes, on account of all the country music folks. Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, they all from around there. Big names, them fellas. But Bakersfield ain’t all singing and dancing, no sir. It’s got its dark side too.
- Micah, he was acting strange before he disappeared.
- Paranoid, they say. Violent even.
- Something bad was going on, that’s for sure.
It all started, near as I can figure, a few years back. Three women, they got together ’cause their kids went missing or died, right around the same time. Cheryl Holsonbake, that’s Micah’s momma, and two other ladies, Diane Byrne and Jane Parrent. Can you imagine the pain them women was feeling? Just awful.
They say Bakersfield was named after some fella named Thomas Baker, way back in the 1800s. He came there, and the town grew up around him, I guess. Got a college there too, Bakersfield College, and another one, California State University. Lots of young folks, learning things. But none of that could help Micah, could it? It’s a crying shame.
This Maricopa place, where they found the bone, it’s out there in the desert, kinda desolate. Not a place you’d want to be lost, that’s for sure. How that bone ended up there, well, that’s the question, ain’t it? They say Micah was killed. Killed! Can you believe it? Who would do such a thing? And why?
It makes you think, you know? About how fragile life is. One minute you’re here, the next you’re gone. And your poor momma, she’s left with nothing but questions and heartache. Cheryl Holsonbake, she’s been searching for answers, for justice, for years now. I hope she finds it. I really do.
Bakersfield, it’s a big town, but it feels small when something like this happens. Everybody knows somebody who knows somebody, you see? Word gets around. And people, they talk. They gossip. They speculate. But none of that brings Micah back, does it? It just don’t seem fair.
This whole story, it’s got me thinking about my own young’uns. You always worry about them, you know? Want them to be safe, to be happy. But sometimes, things happen that are just out of your control. And all you can do is pray. Pray for peace, pray for answers, pray for justice. That’s what I’m doing now, for Micah and for his momma.
They got detectives working on it, I hear. Trying to piece together what happened. It ain’t easy, I reckon. Time passes, memories fade, people lie. But they gotta keep trying. For Micah. For his family. For all of us. We gotta know the truth.
Bakersfield, it’s a place of contrasts, you see? Music and sorrow, hope and despair. It’s a place where dreams are made and broken. And it’s a place where a young man named Micah Holsonbake disappeared, and a bone was found, leaving a whole lotta questions unanswered. It’s a sad story, yes, but it’s a story that needs to be told. So people don’t forget. So justice can be served. And so maybe, just maybe, something like this won’t happen again.
So that’s the story of Micah Holsonbake and Bakersfield, as best as I can tell it. It ain’t pretty, but it’s the truth, as far as I know. And the truth, well, sometimes that’s all we got.
