Okay, so, today I wanted to talk about this guy, Ruben Jaramillo, in San Antonio. I’d heard the name before, kind of in passing, like some legal stuff and a Netflix thing, I wasn’t even sure.
First, I started by checking out that Netflix episode someone told me about. There was some gossip about his dating life, that he supposedly only dated younger people, between 18 and 24 years old. Not really my business, but okay. Also I learned that most of them ended up with someone else. That’s harsh, man.
Then I dug into the legal side of things. I found some documents saying he appealed his conviction for aggravated robbery of an elderly person. That’s a pretty serious charge. I saw something about his lawyer, and how he said he was incompetent in some amendment related case. Apparently, he argued that his lawyer didn’t do a good job, you know, ineffective assistance of counsel, which is a Sixth Amendment thing. Looks like the court didn’t agree, and they upheld his conviction. This is heavy stuff.

I also bumped into something about a song. Remembered the name – “Bullets of Mexico” by Phil Ochs. It is said that the song is about this Ruben Jaramillo, which made me curious. But the song didn’t give away too much about him.
More on Court Records
So, I went down a rabbit hole, trying to find more about him. I wanted to see if there was a public profile for him, like court records, photos, address, the whole nine yards. Found a website that seemed to have some of that info. It wasn’t super detailed, but it gave me a little more context.
Honestly, the whole thing left me with more questions than answers. I mean, who was this guy, really? A bit of a controversial figure, I guess. From the Netflix gossip to the serious legal battles, it’s like a puzzle with missing pieces.
- Started with a Netflix episode

I just felt like sharing this because it was such a random deep dive today. Sometimes you stumble upon these stories, and they just stick with you. If anyone knows more about Ruben Jaramillo or has some insights, feel free to chime in. I’m all ears.
