So I finally finished watching “Reborn Rich,” and man, what a ride! I started watching it because, well, everyone was talking about it, and the whole idea of a guy getting reborn into a rich family sounded pretty cool. Plus, who doesn’t love a good revenge story?
I jumped into the first episode, and I was immediately hooked. Seeing Yoon Hyun Woo, this loyal secretary, get betrayed and killed by the very family he served was brutal. Then, bam! He wakes up in the body of Jin Do Jun, the youngest grandson of that same backstabbing family. I was like, “Okay, this is getting interesting!”
I spent the next few days watching Do Jun navigate this new life. It was fascinating to see him use his knowledge of the future to his advantage, making smart investments and climbing the corporate ladder. I cheered for him every step of the way, especially when he outsmarted those greedy family members who were trying to take over the company.
I also got invested in the relationships he formed. His connection with Prosecutor Min Young was particularly interesting, and I was always rooting for them to figure things out. And let’s not forget about his relationship with his grandfather, Chairman Jin Yang Chul. It was complex and full of tension, but I think there was a bit of mutual respect there.
But then came the ending. Oh boy, the ending. I was watching, fully expecting Do Jun to triumph, to get his revenge, and maybe even end up with Min Young. But no! It turns out that Yoon Hyun Woo, in his original life, was involved in the accident that killed Do Jun. What a twist! And then, he wakes up back in his old body, in the present day, after being in a coma for a week. Everything he did as Do Jun, all the changes he made, it all seemed pointless.
I felt so frustrated! It felt like the bad guys won. The Soonyang family still had their power, and Do Jun was just gone. I mean, I get that the writer was trying to say something about fate and how some things are just meant to be, but it was a real downer.
I went online, and apparently, a lot of people felt the same way. There were even talks about a possible season 2, focusing on Chairman Jin Yang Chul’s past. Honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about that. On one hand, I’m curious, but on the other hand, I’m worried they might mess it up even more.
Here’s what I did after watching the finale:
- Reread the synopsis: I went back to the synopsis to see if I missed any clues about the ending.
- Searched for online discussions: I spent hours reading forums and articles about the show, trying to understand the ending better.
- Discussed it with friends: I talked to my friends who also watched the show to see what they thought.
In the end, “Reborn Rich” left me with mixed feelings. It was a well-made show with a captivating story and great acting, but that ending just didn’t sit right with me. It felt like a betrayal of all the buildup and the emotional investment I had in the characters. Maybe I’m just a sucker for happy endings, but I really wished things had turned out differently for Do Jun and Yoon Hyun Woo.
I kept thinking, What a pity that such a good drama with such a bad ending. What a pity!
Anyway, at least I got the answer. Soonyang family give up the management position, and the shareholders leave the management to a specialist. That is something.
The director even talked about the author of the original story of ‘Reborn Rich’ is writing a prequel about Chairman Jin Yang-chul’s younger days. I will definitely watch it if it is released.
