Alright, so listen up, y’all. Let me tell ya ’bout this Bodkin episode 1, or whatever they call it. I watched it, and I’m gonna tell ya what happened, the best I can remember. Don’t expect no fancy words or nothin’, just plain talk, ya hear?
Okay, so this thing, Bodkin, it’s supposed to be about some folks disappearin’. Three of ’em, gone poof! And it happened on some kinda Irish night, somethin’ about the dead. Spooky, huh? These three people, they just vanished during this festival, somethin’ called Samhain. Sounds like a whole lotta trouble to me.
Now, we got this fella, Gilbert, and a woman, Dove. And there’s another one, Emmy. These three, they’re like… investigators, I guess. But not the police kind. They got microphones and stuff, so maybe they’re reporters? Anyways, they’re snoopin’ around tryin’ to figure out what happened to them missing folks. Twenty-five years ago, that’s a long time to be missin’, ain’t it?
- Gilbert, he’s American, so he talks a bit funny.
- Dove, she seems kinda serious, like she’s seen some things.
- Emmy, well, she’s just kinda there, taggin’ along.
They got this driver, Sean. He’s local, knows the area. Drives ’em around, tells ’em stuff. He probably knows more than he lets on, those quiet types always do. They talk to him, tryin’ to get the lay of the land, ya know?
This first episode, they call it “One True Mystery”. Aired on May 9th, so it’s brand spankin’ new. It’s all about settin’ the scene, introducin’ the characters, and gettin’ the ball rollin’. They start talkin’ to folks, askin’ questions. Small town, everybody knows everybody, so you’d think someone woulda talked by now. But these things, they ain’t never that simple.
Bodkin, it’s supposed to be funny, but also scary. A “darkly comedic thriller,” they call it. I dunno ’bout all that fancy talk. It’s got some laughs, and it’s got some spooky parts. But mostly, it’s just confusing. Too many people talkin’ too fast, and I can’t keep up with all their names and whatnot.
Now, Dove, she had some trouble before she even got to this town. Seems she was workin’ on another story, somethin’ about a fella named Krtek. Poor fella, found him hangin’. They say it was suicide, but you never know. And her boss, Damien, he didn’t want her to keep workin’ on it. But Dove, she’s stubborn. She went to Bodkin anyway. Guess she likes trouble.
This whole thing with the Samhain Festival, that’s a big deal. It’s like their Halloween, but older, ya know? And it seems like whatever happened to them missing folks, it’s tied to that festival. Old wounds, hidden threats, that’s what they say. Sounds like a whole lotta mess to me.
So, they’re in this town, Bodkin, it’s by the coast, pretty place, I guess. But somethin’ ain’t right. You can feel it. These podcasters, they’re stirrin’ up trouble, askin’ questions nobody wants to answer. And I bet, as they keep diggin’, they’re gonna find more than they bargained for.
The show, it jumps around a bit. One minute you’re lookin’ at Dove starin’ at her computer, the next you’re at the harbor with a bunch of people. It’s kinda hard to follow, but I guess that’s how they do things these days. Keep ya on your toes, or somethin’ like that.
And then there’s the bodies. They found two bodies in a car. Sergeant Power, he shows up, tells everybody to back off. More dead people. This town, it’s got a dark history, I tell ya. And these podcasters, they’re right smack in the middle of it.
So, that’s pretty much it for the first episode. Lots of questions, not many answers. They set the stage, introduced the characters, and got the mystery goin’. We’ll have to see what happens next. But I got a feelin’ it’s gonna get a whole lot messier before it gets better.
In short, it’s about these three people disappearing a long time ago, and now some podcasters are trying to figure out what happened. It’s set in a small Irish town during a festival, and there’s a lot of secrets and spooky stuff goin’ on.
