Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about them movies, the ones like that Monsters, Inc. picture show. You know, the one with them fuzzy critters and that little girl? Yeah, that one. So, if you liked that, you might like some others too, see?
Now, I ain’t no fancy movie expert or nothin’, but I know what I like, and I know what my grandkids like. And they watched that Monsters movie ’til the cows came home, I tell ya. So, I started lookin’ around for more of the same, somethin’ to keep ’em quiet for a spell. And wouldn’t ya know it, there’s a whole bunch of ’em out there!
First off, they got this Monsters University thing. That’s like the same monsters, but when they was young’uns. Seein’ how they met and all that. It’s kinda cute, you know? Kids like it. Lots of laughin’ and carryin’ on.
Then there’s all sorts of other movies, not exactly the same, but kinda similar. They got this one website, Filmaffinity they call it, and it tells ya what movies are like other movies. It’s like a matchmaker for movies, I guess. Says there’s like, 80 movies similar to Monsters, Inc. Can ya believe that? Eighty! That’s a whole lotta movies, even for a rainy day.
- Some of ’em are on Netflix, that’s the one where you watch movies on the TV without goin’ to the store. Handy, I tell ya, especially when it’s cold outside.
- Then they got iTunes and Amazon too. Same kinda deal, but you gotta pay for ’em, I think. Or maybe you rent ’em? I don’t rightly know, my grandkids do all that stuff.
Anyways, some of these movies, they got the same kinda feel as Monsters, Inc. You know, funny and heartwarming, with a little bit of scarin’ thrown in for good measure. Like that Super Mario Galaxy game, it ain’t a movie, but it’s got that same kinda fun and colorful world. My grandson, he plays that thing all the time. Jumpin’ and runnin’ and collectin’ stars. Kids these days, I tell ya!
And then there’s that New Super Mario Bros., too. Same kinda deal, but different, ya know? More jumpin’, more runnin’. It’s all the same to me, but the kids, they know the difference. They’re smart like that.
Now, I heard tell they might make another Monsters, Inc. movie. Monsters Inc 3, they’re callin’ it. Comin’ out in 2025, they say. Mike and Sully, back at it again. That’ll be somethin’, won’t it? My grandkids will be all over that like flies on honey. They love them two.
I remember how that first Monsters, Inc. movie ended, with that little girl, Boo, goin’ back home. And that mean old Roz, she shredded that door so they couldn’t see each other no more. Sad, but sweet, you know? Makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy inside. That’s what a good movie does, I reckon.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ like Monsters, Inc., there’s plenty to choose from. Just gotta poke around a little. Ask your kids, they probably know more than you do. Or go on that Filmaffinity thing, if you’re fancy like that. Me? I’ll just stick to whatever my grandkids put on the TV. Less fuss that way.
And that Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor show? Heard it’s at them Disney parks. Interactive, they say. Probably a hoot for the young’uns. Me? I’d rather sit on my porch with a glass of sweet tea, but to each their own, right?
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about that. Go find yourself a good movie and settle in. And don’t forget the popcorn! That’s the best part, if you ask me.
