Okay, so I was scrolling through my movie list the other day, trying to find something good to watch, and I was really in the mood for something like “The Flight of the Phoenix.” You know, that survival, against-all-odds kind of vibe. But I’d already seen it a bunch of times, so I needed something fresh. So I started digging around.
First, I hit up FMovies. I figured a site with a huge database would have what I needed. I spent a good chunk of time browsing, but I wanted to see what else was out there before settling down.
Then, I stumbled upon something about a “techno-human” committing a crime in the near future. It sounded interesting, a bit sci-fi, with the whole “death is dead” concept. The synopsis mentioned New York, which always adds a cool backdrop. But it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, not that survival thriller feel.
Next up was this movie called “2B Honest,” directed by some guy named Devon Bray. It was listed as a thriller, supposed to be released in November 2024. Sounded promising, but I couldn’t watch it yet.
Then I found this list – “100 Best Free Movies on Tubi (January 2025).” Tubi! I totally forgot about Tubi. They claim to have over 200,000 movies and TV episodes. That’s a lot to sift through, but I was determined.
I started browsing Tubi, and there was this one about a disgraced police detective seeking redemption. He goes undercover to expose a crime syndicate. The deeper he goes, the more dangerous it gets. It sounded intense, based on true events, which is always a plus. But again, not quite the “stranded in the desert” kind of survival I was craving.
Tubi has this cool feature where you can filter by genre, release year, and ratings. So, I started playing around with that, focusing on action movies. I spent a while checking out different titles, but nothing was really grabbing me.
Then there was another movie about murder, love, and insurance policies. The characters are on the run from the law. Sounded like a decent crime thriller, but not the survival flick I was after.
I found another movie about the first “post-human” thing and how society deals with it when it commits a murder. It sounds intriguing, but also not the survival vibe I was looking for.
After all that searching, I still haven’t found the perfect movie. It’s tough when you have a specific kind of movie in mind. I might just end up rewatching “The Flight of the Phoenix” again!
