Okay, so I was chilling the other day and got this sudden urge to watch “Knights of the Zodiac.” You know, that movie with all the cool fights and mythical stuff. But then I thought, what else is out there that’s kind of like it? So, I started digging around.
First, I tried to find what I could stream. I mean, who even goes to movie theaters anymore, right? I checked out a bunch of those streaming sites, the usual suspects. I typed in “movies like Knights of the Zodiac” and a few other things like that in the search bar. I found a few lists of movies that seemed somewhat related. One of them was about “Lord of the Rings.” I guess it’s got that fantasy vibe, but it’s not exactly what I was looking for. Still, I made a note of it.
- Tried searching for streaming options.
- Found “Lord of the Rings” – not quite right, but maybe later.
Then, I stumbled upon this list of “the greatest movies ever made” according to some film critics. The top one was this movie called “Jeanne Dielman, 23, Quai du Commerce.” Sounds fancy, but I’ve never heard of it. Probably not my thing, to be honest. It didn’t seem anything like “Knights of the Zodiac.”
Next, I went down this rabbit hole of “Blaxploitation movies of the 70s.” It was interesting, I guess, learning about those films and their “cultural impact,” but again, not really what I was after. I mean, I’m looking for action, maybe some magic, definitely not a history lesson. And all of these movies are so old, that’s not what I want.
- Discovered “Jeanne Dielman” – sounds boring.
- Learned about Blaxploitation movies – not relevant, but kinda cool.
After that, I found something about “Allied Artists” and the movies they made. There was a list of places to watch them, but nothing really caught my eye. It was just a bunch of titles I didn’t recognize, and honestly, I was getting a little tired of searching by this point. I found one Italian film “We Still Kill the Old Way” by a teacher who falls for a woman whose husband was recently murdered. But I don’t like to watch movies with subtitles.
I also tried looking up specific actors, hoping maybe they were in something similar to “Knights of the Zodiac.” I searched for “Denholm Elliott movies” and “Craig T. Nelson movies.” I found a bunch of their films and TV shows, but nothing really jumped out at me. I mean, Craig T. Nelson was in “Coach” and “Poltergeist.” Not exactly what I had in mind. And I found another movie about a man looking for “an Ape man”, what the hell?
- Checked out Allied Artists – nothing interesting.
- Searched for Denholm Elliott and Craig T. Nelson – no luck.
- What’s an Ape man?
The Result
So, yeah, that was my little adventure in trying to find movies like “Knights of the Zodiac.” I didn’t really find anything that fit the bill perfectly, but I guess I learned a few things along the way. Maybe I’ll just rewatch “Knights of the Zodiac” again. Or maybe I’ll finally give “Lord of the Rings” a try. Who knows?
