Okay, so the other day I was thinking about “If I Stay,” you know, that movie with Chloë Grace Moretz? It totally wrecked me when I first saw it, and I was in the mood for something similar. So, I decided to find some movies that give off the same vibes.
First, I grabbed my laptop and fired up Google. I wasn’t really sure what to search for, so I just typed in “movies like If I Stay”. You know, keeping it simple.
My little research
I scrolled through a bunch of results – list after list of recommendations. I jotted down some titles that sounded interesting on a piece of paper. I wanted something that would be emotionally powerful that involved love and Loss.

After I checking the trailer, I decided to watch them all!
I ended up having a major movie marathon that weekend! Watched all of them. Some of them were total tearjerkers, others were a little more uplifting, but they all had that element of dealing with heavy stuff, you know? It was exactly what I was looking for.
This method worked pretty well. Just starting with a simple search and then following the rabbit trail of recommendations led me to exactly what I wanted. Next time I’m in the mood for a specific movie vibe, I’m definitely doing this again!
