Okay, so the other day I was on a real crime movie kick. I’d just rewatched “Donnie Brasco,” and I was itching for something similar. You know, that gritty, undercover-agent-in-too-deep vibe. So, I decided to make a list, a real deep dive.
The Start of My Search
First, I fired up my computer. I just started with a simple search, typing in “movies like Donnie Brasco”. I figured that was the easiest way to get the ball rolling.
I got the usual suspects pop up on some movie sites and forums, I jotted down the ones that seemed to be mentioned a lot.
Digging Deeper
Then, I started to get more specific. I wanted to refine my search,I started searching for things like “undercover cop movies 1970s” (because I love that 70s feel) and “mafia infiltration movies”.
Building My Watchlist
- I checked out some trailers on a video site, just to get a feel for the movies. If the trailer looked good, the movie made the list.
- I also looked at some reviews, not to get swayed, just to see if there were any major red flags, like terrible acting or a plot that made zero sense.
The Result
