Okay, so the other day I was in the mood for a good thriller, something with twists and turns, you know? I remembered “A Fall from Grace” on Netflix and how much I enjoyed it. So, I decided to find some similar movies. Here’s how I went about it:
First, I fired up Google. I kept my search pretty simple, I Just typed in “movies like a fall from grace”.
I started skimming through the results. A bunch of websites popped up, mostly listicles with titles like “10 Movies to Watch if You Loved ‘A Fall from Grace’”. I tend to ignore anything that looks too much like clickbait, so I looked for articles from sites I kind of recognized.
My Basic Filtering Process
- Checked out a couple of those list articles. I didn’t read them in detail, just scanned for movie titles that I hadn’t seen before.
- Looked for common themes. “A Fall from Grace” is a legal thriller with a strong female lead and some serious plot twists. I kept an eye out for movies that seemed to fit that general vibe.
- I also paid attention to user reviews, if I can find it.
I jotted down a few titles that sounded interesting. Then, for each movie, I did a quick search for the trailer on YouTube. Trailers can be misleading, but they at least give you a sense of the movie’s tone and style.
After watching a few trailers, I narrowed down my list to three movies that I thought looked promising. I made a note of where I could watch each one (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.).
Finally, I settled in to watch one of them. It wasn’t quite as good as “A Fall from Grace,” but it definitely scratched that thriller itch! I’ll probably check out the other two movies on my list later this week.
