So, the other day, I was thinking about that movie, “A Beautiful Mind,” you know, the one with Russell Crowe playing that math genius. I watched it again last night, actually. It got me thinking about other movies that are kinda like it. You know, smart people, big ideas, maybe a little bit of drama and all that.
I started to dig around a bit, just to see what other people were saying. Turns out, there are a lot of films that have a similar vibe. I hopped on a few websites where people talk about movies.
First, I went on one of those movie sites, the one with the black background, and typed in “A Beautiful Mind”. It gave me a bunch of similar movies, like, a whole bunch. I saw that some folks said there were like 74 movies that are kinda similar.
- Checked out a movie site: It’s like a social network for movie lovers.
- Found some lists: People had already made lists of movies similar to “A Beautiful Mind.”
- Saw some familiar titles: Some of the movies I’d already seen, which was cool.
Then, I found this other site, more focused on voting and recommendations, where people can rate movies and make lists. There were a lot of lists there too, connected to “A Beautiful Mind”. People were talking about movies that take place at big universities like Harvard, Cambridge, and Princeton. Yeah, I like those kind of movies.
Digging Deeper
I started writing down the names of movies that kept popping up. There were a lot of them! Some I’d seen, some I hadn’t. I even stumbled upon a short film, an Oscar winner, called “Two Distant Strangers.” It was mentioned in the same breath as “A Beautiful Mind,” which is pretty interesting, considering it’s a short film. Looks like I need to see it sometime.
Anyway, I made my own little list of movies that seem to be in the same ballpark as “A Beautiful Mind.” It’s a work in progress, but it’s a good start. I’m gonna try to watch a few of these and see if they really scratch that same itch.
