Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout this Kim Wae Hotel place, down in that there Caribbean. Folks call it a paradise, but I ain’t never seen a paradise myself, so I’ll tell ya what I heard, ya know?
This hotel, the Kim Wae Hotel, that’s what they call it. Sounds fancy, huh? It’s supposed to be right on the beach, with the water all blue and pretty. They say you can see the ocean right from your room, which must be nice, I reckon. I ain’t never seen nothin’ but dirt and trees, mostly. But them folks at the hotel, they get to look at the water all day long. Lucky ducks, I say.
Now, this hotel, it ain’t just any old place, mind you. It’s got folks comin’ and goin’, all sorts of stories happenin’. There’s this one fella, Marcus, he’s sneakin’ around, plannin’ to meet some Mrs. Kim. Don’t know what that’s about, but it sounds like trouble to me. Always is with them sneaky types, ain’t it?
- They got beaches, lots of sand and water.
- Rooms with a view, they say. Fancy, huh?
- Folks comin’ and goin’, all sorts of stories.
- And that Marcus fella, up to no good, I betcha.
They filmed some of this here hotel stuff at a place called Kapaa Quarry Rd. Don’t ask me where that is, I ain’t got a clue. But them movie folks, they go all over the place, makin’ things look real pretty. So, this Kim Wae Hotel, it might be real, or it might be just for the movies. Hard to tell these days.
Anyways, this hotel, it’s supposed to be in Barbados. That’s an island somewhere, warm and sunny, they say. I bet it’s nice, all that sunshine and warm air. Beats the cold wind we get around here, that’s for sure. And the water, they say it’s so clear you can see right to the bottom. I ain’t never seen water like that, our creek’s always muddy.
The Kim Wae Hotel, it’s got all the fixin’s, I hear. Big beds, fancy food, folks waitin’ on ya hand and foot. Must be nice to be treated like that, ain’t it? I’m used to doin’ everything myself, from sunup to sundown. But these folks at the hotel, they just relax and enjoy themselves. Good for them, I say. They probably worked hard for it, or maybe they were just born lucky. Who knows?
I heard there’s this Kyla and Ron, staying at the hotel. Just regular folks, I guess. But that Marcus fella, he’s plannin’ on meetin’ Mrs. Kim, remember? Makes ya wonder what’s goin’ on, doesn’t it? All this hanky panky in a fancy hotel. Seems like somethin’ outta one of them stories they tell on the radio.
This Caribbean place, it sounds like a dream. Palm trees, sunshine, that blue water… It ain’t like nothin’ around here, that’s for sure. We got dirt roads and cornfields, they got beaches and fancy hotels. But I reckon folks are the same everywhere, good and bad, rich and poor. Just livin’ their lives, tryin’ to make the best of it.
So, that’s the story of this Kim Wae Hotel, as best as I can tell ya. It’s a place of sunshine and secrets, beaches and betrayals. A place where folks come to escape, or maybe to find somethin’ they’ve been lookin’ for. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll get to see it for myself. But for now, I’ll just sit here and dream about it, while I look out at my own little piece of the world, which ain’t much, but it’s home.
It ain’t paradise, but it’s mine. And that’s good enough for me. But that Kim Wae Hotel, it sure does sound somethin’ special, don’t it? A place where dreams come true, or maybe where they get all tangled up. Either way, it’s a story worth tellin’, and I hope I told it right. Now, ya’ll be good, ya hear?
