Well, howdy there! So, you’re lookin’ for movies like that Corpse Bride flick, huh? That one with the blue fella and the dead gal? I tell you what, my grandkid showed me that once, kinda spooky but kinda sweet too, you know? Reminded me a bit of them old stories they used to tell ’round the fire back in the day.
Now, I ain’t no fancy movie expert or nothin’, but I do watch a thing or two on that TV box when I ain’t busy with the chickens. And lemme tell ya, there’s a whole bunch of movies out there that got that same kinda feelin’ as Corpse Bride. They call ’em animated movies, I think. Lots of pretty pictures and stories that make you think, even if they’re a bit… well, different.
One movie that comes to mind is called The Book of Life. Now, that one’s got all sorts of colors, real bright and cheerful, but it’s also about dead folks and rememberin’ them. Kinda like that Corpse Bride, where the gal ain’t exactly… livin’. It’s got them skeletons dancin’ and singin’, which is somethin’, ain’t it? Makes you wonder what them folks in the ground are really up to.
- The Book of Life (2014) – A real colorful one, lots of singin’ and dancin’, even with the dead folks.
- Frankenweenie (2012) – A boy and his dog, but the dog gets… well, fixed up a bit different. A bit spooky, but got heart, just like that Corpse Bride movie.
- ParaNorman (2012) – This one’s about a boy who can see ghosts. Spooky stuff, but the boy’s just tryin’ to help folks, kinda like that Victor fella in Corpse Bride.
Then there’s this other one, Frankenweenie. Now, that one’s a bit weird, I tell ya. It’s about a boy who loves his dog so much, he brings it back from the dead. Sounds kinda like that Corpse Bride story, don’t it? Someone tryin’ to make things right, even if it ain’t exactly natural.
And if you’re lookin’ for more spooky stuff, there’s ParaNorman. That one’s got ghosts and zombies and all sorts of creepy crawlies. But it ain’t just about scarin’ you, it’s about a boy who’s different tryin’ to fit in and do what’s right. Reminds me of that gal in Corpse Bride, just wantin’ to be loved and understood, even though she’s… well, you know.
There’s a bunch more too, if you go lookin’. Someone told me there’s like, eighty movies kinda like Corpse Bride. Eighty! That’s a whole lotta spooks and songs and stories. I reckon you could spend a whole month just watchin’ them movies. They got all sorts of things in ’em, adventure, supernatural stuff, and even a bit of romance, if you can believe it. Makes you think, even if it’s just about cartoon folks.
And get this, they’re even talkin’ about makin’ a Corpse Bride 2! Can you imagine? More of that blue fella and his dead gal, maybe they get married this time, or maybe they go on some adventure. Who knows? But I reckon it’ll be just as strange and sweet as the first one.
Now, I don’t know where you watch these movies, but my grandkid says they’re on all sorts of things now. Streaming platforms, they call ‘em. Sounds fancy, but I guess it just means you can watch ‘em on your TV or your computer or even that little phone thing they all carry around now. Times sure have changed, ain’t they?
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to watch and you liked that Corpse Bride movie, you got plenty of choices. Just search for them animated movies, the ones with the death themes and the hauntingly beautiful pictures, as my grandkid would say. You’ll find somethin’ you like, I reckon. And if you don’t, well, you can always just watch the chickens, they’re always entertainin’.
And remember, these movies ain’t just about spooks and scares. They’re about findin’ love and doin’ what’s right, even when things are tough. Kinda like life, ain’t it?
