Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Krissi Caldwell thing. I heard some folks whisperin’ about it, you know, down at the market. So, I poked around a bit, asked some questions. Don’t you worry, I ain’t no fancy reporter or nothin’, just a plain ol’ woman tryin’ to make sense of things.
So, this Krissi girl, she’s got herself mixed up in somethin’ real messy, somethin’ that happened way back when. They say it was back in 1992, a long, long time ago. Folks was talkin’ ’bout some boy named Bobby Gonzales. Now, Bobby, he was just a young’un, only 15 years old they say. Fifteen! Barely a man, more like a…a gangly calf, if you ask me.
And Krissi, she was young too. Folks say she was Bobby’s girlfriend. Young love, they call it. But this weren’t no sweet love story, no sir. This here was a tragedy, a real heartbreaker. See, Bobby, he done somethin’ awful. He shot Krissi’s mama and daddy while they was sleepin’ in their own beds. Can you imagine? Sleepin’ peaceful and then…bam! Gone just like that. It chills ya to the bone, it does.
- They say it happened in Frisco, Texas.
- Bobby shot ’em both, but only Krissi’s mama, Roz Caldwell, died.
- Poor Krissi, left without her folks, all because of some boy she thought she loved. It ain’t right, I tell ya. It just ain’t right.
Now, they got this TV show, see? It’s called “Kids Behind Bars: Life or Parole”. They gonna tell Bobby’s story, I guess. And Krissi, she’s part of it too, ’cause it’s her life that got turned upside down. They say the show’s gonna start airin’ on April 30th at 10 PM. That’s on A&E, whatever that is. Some fancy TV channel, I reckon.
I don’t know much about this Bobby fella, but I heard they gave him some numbers. Said somethin’ ’bout a TDCJ number and a SID number. TDCJ number 00647502 and SID Number 04687658, they say. Sounds official, like they got him locked up good. And that’s where the “Life or Parole” part comes in, see? They gonna decide if he stays locked up or if he gets to walk free. It’s a big decision, that’s for sure.
Makes you think, don’t it? About forgiveness, about justice, about how one bad decision can ruin so many lives. Krissi, she’s gotta live with this forever. Bobby, well, he’s gotta live with it too, even if he does get out. And those poor Caldwell folks, they ain’t here no more. Makes me wanna hug my own grandbabies tighter, that’s for sure.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about this Krissi Caldwell and Bobby Gonzales business. It ain’t pretty, but it’s the truth, as far as I can tell. And the truth, well, it ain’t always easy to swallow. But we gotta face it, don’t we? We gotta learn from it, and we gotta try to make this world a little bit better, a little bit kinder, one day at a time.
Now, they ain’t tellin’ us exactly when Krissi will be on this show, or what she’ll say. But you bet your bottom dollar I’ll be watchin’. I wanna see if she’s found any peace, if she’s forgiven that boy, or if she’s still carryin’ that heavy load. It’s her story, after all. And it’s a story worth hearin’, even if it breaks your heart a little. You mark my words, this here ain’t the end of it. There’s more to this story, more to Krissi’s pain and Bobby’s fate. And we’ll be watchin’ and waitin’ to see how it all unfolds.
And that’s the whole story, near as I can figure. Just a sad tale ’bout young folks makin’ bad choices and the mess it leaves behind. Don’t you go forgettin’ about Krissi now, ya hear?
