Alright, so listen up, y’all. I’m gonna tell ya ’bout this “King the Land” thing, episode 12, like I saw it. No fancy talk, just plain and simple.
So, this fella Won, he’s gotta figure out what to do with this big company, King Group, with this woman Gu Hwa-ran. Big decisions, you know? Money and stuff. It’s like deciding whether to sell the cow or keep it for milk, but way bigger. They’re probably sweatin’ bullets, I tell ya.
And then there’s this girl, Sa-rang. Sweet thing, she is. Lost her folks, but she’s got a good head on her shoulders. Doesn’t act like she’s better than anyone, treats everyone nice. Likes to dance, have fun with her friends, and hang out with her grandma. Reminds me of my own granddaughter, always full of life.
Now, Won and Sa-rang, they’re getting closer, you know, like peas in a pod. But wouldn’t ya know it, just when things are lookin’ good, some stranger pops up outta nowhere. Always somethin’, ain’t it? Life’s like a bumpy road, just when you think it’s smooth, you hit a pothole.
See, this hotel, it’s a big deal, a hundred years old! They want Won to run the anniversary thing. Big party, I guess. And Sa-rang, she meets this fella who works there, and he might know some stuff about Won’s past. Secrets, maybe? Everybody’s got secrets, even that ol’ rooster down the street. He ain’t tellin’ nobody where he hides his corn, that’s for sure.
- Won and Gu Hwa-ran: Big company decisions.
- Sa-rang: Sweet girl, likes to dance.
- Won and Sa-rang: Getting close, then a stranger arrives.
- Hotel Anniversary: Big party, Won’s in charge.
- Secrets: Maybe about Won’s past.
This show, “King the Land,” it’s got 16 episodes. That’s a lot of watchin’, but folks seem to like it. The first episode, lots of people watched it on TV, all over the country. They even got numbers and percentages, like they do for everything these days. Beats me how they figure that stuff out. It’s all just numbers to me.
This 2BTO King fella, he’s a singer, right? Folks listen to his music on the computer and their phones. They got these things called Deezer, Apple Music, Qobuz…all sounds like gibberish to me. But he’s popular, sings songs, people like it. From some place called Mali. Probably hot over there. I bet he ain’t never had to shovel snow. He’s got all kinds of songs, fast ones, slow ones. People even translate his words, so everyone can understand. He’s got songs with other singers, too. It’s like a potluck, everyone brings somethin’.
He’s on the Facebook too. My grandson showed me that once. Pictures and videos, all jumpin’ around. Makes my head spin. This 2BTO King, he’s got songs about all sorts of things, I guess. Love, life, maybe even singin’ about his chickens. Who knows? Singers these days, they sing about everything and anything.
Back to this “King the Land.” It’s all about this hotel and the people. Won, Sa-rang, Gu Hwa-ran, and all the rest. They got their problems, their happy times, their secrets. Just like real life, I reckon. Only prettier and with better clothes. And probably more money. Lots more money. I bet they ain’t never had to worry about the price of eggs.
So, that’s the gist of it, episode 12. Big decisions, new people showin’ up, and secrets comin’ out. Sounds like a regular Tuesday to me, just with fancier folks and a bigger budget. I’ll stick to my soaps and my chickens, thank ya very much. But hey, if you like that kinda thing, you go right ahead and watch it. Just don’t expect me to understand all the fancy talk.
And that 2BTO King singer, well, if he ever comes to town, maybe I’ll listen to a song or two. But only if he sings somethin’ I can understand. No rap or hip hop for me. I like a good old tune you can hum along to. Something about heartbreak and hard work. That’s something I know a thing or two about.
