Well, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Jonathan Coley from Greensboro, North Carolina. Folks been talkin’ ’bout him, and it ain’t for nothin’ good, I reckon.
This young man, Jonathan Cameron Coley, he’s just 26 years old. But age don’t mean nothin’ when it comes to doin’ wrong, does it? Heard tell he got himself into a heap of trouble, somethin’ to do with a school and a gun. Lord have mercy!
See, they say this Coley fella, he went and broke into a school. Not just any school, mind you, but the Irving Park Elementary school. Imagine that! Scared them little kids and their teachers half to death, I bet.
- They got him on camera, they say. Security footage, they call it. Showed him walkin’ around with a big ol’ gun, a semi-automatic long gun, they called it. Don’t know what that means exactly, but it sounds scary, don’t it?
- Cops figured out it was him, this Jonathan Coley. They went and watched his house, found the car they saw at the school too. Smart fellas, them police, sometimes.
- They arrested him, this Coley boy. Happened on April 16th, three days after he done broke into that school. But then, wouldn’t you know it, they let him out on bail. $25,000 they say. That’s a lot of money, even for city folk.
Now, I ain’t got no schoolin’, but even I know breakin’ into a school with a gun ain’t right. Them parents, they’re all riled up, and I don’t blame ’em one bit. Who wouldn’t be upset? You send your kids off to learn, not to be scared by some fella with a gun.
They say this Jonathan Coley, he’s from Greensboro. That’s a big city, I hear. Lots of folks, lots of trouble, probably. But still, you don’t expect somethin’ like this to happen, not at a school.
I tell ya, this world’s gettin’ crazier every day. Used to be, you could leave your doors unlocked. Now, you gotta worry about folks breakin’ into schools with guns. What’s this world comin’ to?
Heard they charged him with state charges. Don’t rightly know what all that means, but it sounds serious. Hope they throw the book at him, I do. Gotta teach these young folks a lesson, can’t go around scarin’ people and breakin’ into schools. It ain’t right, it just ain’t right.
This Jonathan Cameron Coley, he’s made a mess of things, that’s for sure. Hope he learns his lesson, and I hope them kids at the school can feel safe again. That’s what matters most, ain’t it? Them little ones need to feel safe.
I keep hearin’ his name on the TV, Jonathan Coley this, Jonathan Coley that. Greensboro ain’t gonna forget this anytime soon, I reckon. It’s a shame, a real shame. A young man like that, throwin’ his life away. And scarin’ all them little kids? That’s the worst part, if you ask me.
They say the police identified him pretty quick, thanks to that security footage. Shows you, cameras are everywhere these days. Can’t get away with nothin’, it seems. And that’s probably a good thing, in this case anyway.
So, that’s the story of Jonathan Coley from Greensboro, as best as I can tell it. A young man, a school, a gun, and a whole lotta trouble. Let’s hope we don’t hear about nothin’ like this again anytime soon. It gives an old lady like me the shivers just thinkin’ about it.
Remember, keep your doors locked and your eyes open. This world’s a changin’, and not always for the better. And that Jonathan Coley fella, he’s proof of that, I reckon.
