Alright, listen up, y’all. I’m gonna tell ya ’bout that Percy Jackson show, the one the young’uns are all hyped about. My grandkids, they wouldn’t shut up about it, so I figured, why not? Gotta see what all the fuss is about, right?
So, this Percy kid, he’s somethin’ else. A regular troublemaker, just like my Bobby when he was young. Always gettin’ into scrapes, but turns out he’s a, whatchamacallit, a demigod. Son of one of them old Greek gods, Poseidon, the water fella. Imagine that! My Bobby just got into the cookie jar, this kid’s messin’ with gods and monsters!
The whole thing is about this quest he’s on. Gotta find some lightning bolt thingy that some fella stole. Zeus, the big boss god, is all riled up, thinkin’ Percy did it. Now, Zeus in this show, they changed him up. Used to be this other fella, but now it’s this Courtney B. Vance guy. He’s good, I reckon, reminds me a bit of my old neighbor, always lookin’ serious and important. This Zeus, he’s got that thunder and lightning thing down pat, real scary-like. My grandkids told me the last actor passed away, bless his heart, so they got this new one. He does a good job, though, fits right in with all them fancy gods.
Anyway, Percy, he goes on this adventure with his friends, Grover and Annabeth. Grover’s a, uh, satyr I think they called it, half-goat, half-man. Looks a bit funny, always eatin’ cans and stuff. Annabeth, she’s the smart one, always knowin’ stuff and plannin’ things. Reminds me of my Martha, she always was the brains of the family.
- Grover’s funny-lookin’, but he’s got a good heart.
- Annabeth, she’s sharp as a tack, that one.
- And Percy, well, he’s just tryin’ to figure things out, like any young fella.
They travel all over the place, fightin’ monsters and lookin’ for clues. The monsters, they look real good, not like them rubbery things they used to have in the old movies. Scary, but also kinda cool. My grandkids were jumpin’ and screamin’ every time one popped up, made me spill my tea a couple of times, the little rascals. But hey, that’s what makes it fun, right?
The show, it’s a lot better than them old Percy Jackson movies, that’s for sure. My grandkids said those movies were terrible, didn’t follow the books at all. This show, it’s closer to the books, they say. I wouldn’t know, never read them myself, but the kids seem happy, so that’s good enough for me.
The story, it’s got its ups and downs. Sometimes it’s exciting, with all the fightin’ and monsters, and sometimes it’s a bit slow, with all the talkin’ and plannin’. But that’s life, ain’t it? Can’t be all action all the time. Gotta have some quiet moments too, to catch your breath.
The finale, that’s where it all comes together. Percy finally meets his dad, Poseidon. That was a big moment, I tell ya. Father and son, finally facin’ each other. Real emotional, even made this old lady tear up a bit. And that whole battle at the end, with Percy fightin’ the bad guy, that was somethin’ else. My heart was poundin’ like a drum, I tell ya.
Now, they say there’s gonna be another season, and I reckon I’ll watch it. Gotta see what happens next, right? These demigods and monsters, they sure know how to keep a body entertained. Just gotta make sure I got a good cup of tea and plenty of cookies, ’cause those grandkids of mine, they’ll be back for sure, and they eat like locusts, I tell ya.
Overall, this Percy Jackson show, it’s pretty good. Not perfect, mind you, but what is? It’s got heart, it’s got adventure, and it’s got monsters. What more could you want? If you got kids or grandkids, they’ll probably love it. And even if you don’t, well, it’s still a good way to pass the time. Just don’t expect it to be like real life, ’cause let me tell you, real life ain’t got no demigods or monsters, just taxes and bills, and that’s scary enough as it is.
This Percy kid, he did good. He fought hard, he learned some stuff, and he saved the day. That’s all that matters, right? Makes you think, even a troublemaker can be a hero, if they just put their mind to it. And that’s a good lesson for anyone, young or old.
So yeah, go watch Percy Jackson. You might like it, you might not. But hey, at least you can say you gave it a shot. And who knows, maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two about them old Greek gods. I sure did, even if I can’t pronounce half their names.
