Don’t forget about “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” (2012). This one’s another one of them coming-of-age stories, but with a real deep focus on mental health and the struggles of growing up. If you liked “Garden State” because of its emotional depth, then this one’s a good match. It’s all about a shy boy tryin’ to find his place in the world, and the folks he meets along the way who help him out. Ain’t always easy to watch, but it’ll stick with ya long after it’s over.
