Okay, so I’ve been wanting to find some movies that are similar to “This Is Where I Leave You” for a while now. You know, that kind of movie with family drama, a bit of comedy, and some heartfelt moments. I really liked that one, so I figured I’d dive in and see what else is out there.
I started by just, you know, googling around. I typed in something like “movies similar to This Is Where I Leave You”. A bunch of lists came up, but they were kinda all over the place. Some of the suggestions were way off, like comparing it to sci-fi movies or something. I was like “come on, man, get it together!”.
So, I decided to get a little more specific. I went to some movie forums and read through what other people were saying. There were a few names that kept popping up, like “August: Osage County” and “The Family Stone”. I jotted those down on a piece of paper. I also looked at the cast and directors of “This Is Where I Leave You” to see what other movies they’d been in. That gave me a couple more ideas.
Then, I went to some streaming sites, the usual ones, and typed in the titles I had. I watched a few trailers, read the descriptions, and checked out the ratings. Some of them seemed promising, some not so much. I crossed off the ones that didn’t really seem to fit the vibe I was going for. You know how it is, trailers can be deceiving, so I took those with a grain of salt.
After all that, I ended up with a list of about five or six movies that I thought might be worth checking out. Here they are:
- August: Osage County – This one seems pretty heavy on the family drama, which I’m into.
- The Family Stone – Heard this one has a good mix of humor and emotional stuff.
- Little Miss Sunshine – This one’s a classic, and I’ve always meant to watch it.
- The Judge – Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall? Sign me up.
- Dan in Real Life – This one looks kinda sweet and funny.
So, that’s where I’m at now. I plan to start watching these movies over the next couple of weeks. I might do it one movie per weekend and make it like movie night or something. And I will make a new post on that when I am done. Might take notes or something while watching, I don’t know. We’ll see how it goes. Hopefully, I’ll find some new favorites!
