If You Liked Rim of the World, Check Out These Similar Movies.

Okay, here’s my blog post about finding movies similar to “Rim of the World”:

So, I watched “Rim of the World” on Netflix the other day, and it totally hit that sweet spot. You know, kids on a crazy adventure, aliens, saving the world… the whole shebang. It got me thinking, what else is out there that’s like this? I needed to find more!

My Mission: Find More Alien Adventure Flicks

First, I grabbed my laptop and fired up Google. I started with some pretty basic searches, like, “movies like Rim of the World”. I know, super original, right? But hey, it’s a starting point.

I spent a good hour just scrolling through random lists and articles. Most of them were just… okay. A lot of the suggestions were either way too kiddie or way too serious and adult. I wanted that perfect balance of fun and action.

Digging Deeper: The Forums

Then, I remembered Reddit. There’s gotta be a subreddit for everything, right? And sure enough, I found some threads where people were asking the same question. This is where the real gems started to appear.

  • I jotted down some titles that kept popping up: “Attack the Block” – that one sounded promising.
  • Someone mentioned “Super 8”, which I’d seen ages ago but totally forgotten about. Good one!
  • “Earth to Echo” – never seen it and put it on the list.

Narrowing It Down: The Vibe Check

Now I had a decent list, but I needed to weed out the ones that didn’t quite fit. I started watching trailers on YouTube. This is key, people! You can’t just trust the descriptions, you gotta see the vibe for yourself.

For instance, I am looking for movies with an 80s vibe or the feeling of friendship when facing challenges.

My Final(ish) List

After all that searching, watching, and pondering, I’ve got a pretty solid list of movies to check out. I’m thinking of making it a weekend movie marathon. Pizza, popcorn, the works!

It’s not perfect, and I’m sure I’ll discover more along the way, but that’s half the fun, right? The hunt for the next great movie is almost as good as watching it. Almost.
