So, the other day I was feeling kinda down and wanted to watch something that would make me feel better. I was thinking about that movie “How to Be Single” and how much I liked it, so I decided to look for movies that are similar to it.
First, I just started googling around, you know, typing in things like “movies similar to how to be single.” I got a bunch of lists, but most of them weren’t really what I was looking for.
Then, I started digging a little deeper. I read some articles and blog posts about the movie, trying to figure out what it was that I liked so much about it. I realized that it wasn’t just the romance, but also the story about friendship and figuring out who you are.
- I checked out some of the movies that were recommended on those lists. One of them was “Someone Great” which people said was pretty similar. Gina Rodriguez is in it, and I think she’s cool, so I’ll probably give it a shot.
- Another one that popped up was “The Pretty One.” It’s about mistaken identity, sounds interesting.
- “Someone Like You” from 2001 was also mentioned. I might give it a try, too.
I also stumbled upon some interesting stuff about why people like rewatching movies. Apparently, some psychologist named Pamela Rutledge says that it makes us feel safe and secure. Makes sense, I guess.
Then I started thinking about the characters in “How to Be Single” and how they all ended up. Like, Tom finally opens up to a real relationship, Lucy gets married, and David talks to his daughter about her mom. It’s all about different kinds of love and relationships.
I also remembered that the movie is about four women who are all single and living in New York. They all have different ideas about love, which is cool.
So yeah, that’s basically what I did. I started with a simple search, then I dug deeper, read some stuff, watched some trailers, and thought about the movie itself. Now I have a few new movies to check out, and I feel a little bit better about being single, too.
It was a pretty chill day, just me, my laptop, and a bunch of movies about love and life. Not bad, not bad at all.
