If You Liked How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, Watch This Anime

Okay, here’s my blog post about finding anime similar to “How Not to Summon a Demon Lord,” written from a personal experience perspective, just like the example:

Alright, so I totally binged “How Not to Summon a Demon Lord” a while back. Loved the whole overpowered MC, isekai, with a touch of ecchi thing it had going on. Naturally, I wanted more.

So I started digging. My first move? Hit up good old Google. I just typed in something like “anime like How Not to Summon a Demon Lord,” no caps, no fancy stuff. Simple and to the point. I have got many results that are not related to anime.

Then, I jumped onto some anime forums. Places where people just like me are always chatting about this stuff. I figured, who better to ask than a bunch of other anime nerds, right?

I browsed through existing threads first. You know, just in case someone else had already asked the same question. Found a few, but nothing that really clicked. Most of the suggestions were the usual suspects – which I’d mostly already seen.

So, I made my own post. Something super casual, like, “Hey guys, loved Demon Lord, any recommendations for similar shows?” Kept it short and sweet.

The Recommendations Roll In

  • “The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar”: Some folks suggested this one. Said it had a similar vibe with the whole summoning and fantasy world thing. I gave it a shot, watched a few episodes. It was… okay. Not bad, but it didn’t quite grab me the same way.
  • “Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody”: This one came up a lot. Overpowered MC, isekai, harem elements… checked all the boxes, theoretically. I watched it. It was decent, a bit more slice-of-life-y than I expected, but still enjoyable.
  • “Isekai Cheat Magician”: A couple of people mentioned this one. I tried it, but honestly, it felt a little generic. The magic system wasn’t that interesting, and the characters were kinda bland. Personal preference, I guess.

After watching, searching, and reading, I’m still on the hunt for that perfect replacement. It’s tough! “How Not to Summon a Demon Lord” has a specific charm, that mix of humor, action, and, well, you know… fanservice. It’s hard to find that exact balance. I think I need to continue searching. Maybe, I will get the perfect one soon.

So yeah, that’s my journey so far. If anyone out there has any hidden gems they think I should check out, let me know! The search continues!
