Alright, so I’ve been on this huge Gaspar Noé kick lately, right? I mean, “Enter the Void” just blew my mind. The visuals, the story, that whole first-person perspective… insane! So, naturally, I wanted more. I needed to find other movies that gave me that same trippy, existential, “what the heck did I just watch?” feeling.
My Deep Dive into Similar Cinematic Experiences
First, I did what everyone does – I fired up Google. I typed in stuff like “movies similar to Enter the Void” and “trippy first-person movies”. Honestly, the initial results were kinda ‘meh’. Lots of lists, lots of obvious choices, but nothing really scratching that specific itch.
So I started digging deeper. I went down some serious Reddit rabbit holes. You know, those late-night, multi-tab browsing sessions where you end up on some obscure forum discussing the philosophical implications of psychedelic cinema? Yeah, those.

I am jotting down some intersting movie titles:
- Climax:Also directed by Noé, some guys said it’s a must-watch.
- Requiem for a Dream.I saw many guys mentioned this Darren Aronofsky’s movie.
- Mandy: The Nicolas Cage’s movie, I watched some clips, looks pretty cool!
I decided to watch “Climax” first. I mean, same director, gotta be a good starting point, right? And wow, it was intense. Not exactly like “Enter the Void,” but definitely in the same ballpark. That long, unbroken dance sequence at the beginning? Hypnotic. The descent into chaos? Brutal.
Next, I tried “Requiem for a Dream”,Many people highly recommend this *,*’s depressing, but also strangely captivating, I must say.
Then I watched “Mandy”, well, it’s definitely a unique experience, full of stunning and bizzare images.
So, that’s where I’m at so far! Still searching, still exploring. It’s kinda become an obsession, finding these movies that push the boundaries of what film can be. And, I figured, why not share my little journey? Maybe someone else out there is on the same quest, and my notes can be the start point.
