Okay, so I’ve been on this HUGE detective/mystery show kick lately. And of course, I love “Murdoch Mysteries,” that’s a given! But I wanted more shows with that same vibe, you know? The historical setting, the clever detective, the slightly quirky feel. So, I dove into the internet to find some similar stuff.
First, I started by just straight-up Googling “shows like Murdoch Mysteries.” Simple, right? That gave me a bunch of lists, but it was kinda overwhelming. So many shows!
Then, I narrowed my search. I tried things like “historical detective shows” and “mystery shows with a unique detective.” That helped a bit, pulling up some different options.

I spent a good hour or so just browsing through different forums and blog posts. I found a few Reddit threads where people were asking the same question, and that was super helpful! Real people giving their opinions, not just some random website.
- I jotted down the names of any shows that sounded interesting.
- I looked up trailers on YouTube to get a feel for the show’s atmosphere.
- I checked reviews on sites to see what the general consensus was.
My Watchlist
After my little research session, I’ve got a pretty solid list of shows to check out. For examlpe: “Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries”.I also found that some older shows, so they might be a bit harder to find, but I’m determined!
This whole process was actually pretty fun. It felt like my own little investigation, trying to uncover some hidden TV gems. I love that feeling of discovering a new show that you know you’re going to be obsessed with. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some serious binge-watching to do!
