Okay, so I saw this thing on Shark Tank, “His and Her Bars,” and I thought, “Huh, that’s… different.” Basically, it’s soap, but they’re making a big deal about how it’s for “him” and “her,” with all these fancy ingredients and scents. I’m a pretty simple guy when it comes to soap, usually just grabbing whatever’s on sale, but I was curious.
So, I ordered a couple of bars. One “his” and one “her,” just to try them both out. I gotta say, the packaging was pretty slick. Felt fancy, you know? Like I was getting something special, even though it was just soap.
First Impressions
When I opened the “her” bar, the smell hit me first. It was super flowery and strong. Not really my thing, but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway. The “his” bar had a more, I guess, “woodsy” smell? Kinda like those pine tree air fresheners, but a bit more subtle.

-
The “Her” Bar- very floral, intense smell.
-
The “His” Bar – a toned town pine smell.
Shower Time
Alright, time to actually use these things. The “her” bar lathered up pretty nicely, and the scent definitely filled the shower. I felt clean, sure, but the smell was still a bit much for me. I felt like I walked through a flower shop. It felt more suitable for a girl rather than me.
The “his” bar was…okay. It lathered up alright, not as much as the “her” bar, but it got the job done. The smell was definitely more my style, not too overpowering. I mean, it’s soap, it cleaned me, I didn’t smell bad afterward. That’s pretty much all I’m looking for.
After the Shower
After I dried off, I could still smell the “her” bar on my skin, which, again, wasn’t really my thing. The “his” bar scent faded pretty quickly, which was fine by me.
Honestly, the biggest thing I noticed was that my skin felt a little…softer? I guess? I’m not used to paying attention to that kind of thing, but I think both bars left my skin feeling a bit better than my usual cheap soap.
So, final thoughts? They’re fine. They’re soap. They clean you. The “his” and “her” thing is mostly just marketing, I think. If you like strong, flowery scents, you might like the “her” bar. If you want something a bit more subtle and “masculine,” the “his” bar is okay. Would I buy them again? Probably not. They’re a bit pricey for what they are, and I’m perfectly happy with my regular soap. But it was an interesting experiment, I guess!
It’s probably a good idea to buy both of these at a lower price to see if they are suitable for you.
