Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this Charlie Bone fella and his books. They call it a “series,” like them TV shows, ya know? It’s a whole bunch of books all tellin’ one big story.
So, this Charlie Bone series in order thing, it’s important if ya wanna know what’s goin’ on. You don’t wanna start in the middle, that’d be like eatin’ dessert before supper, wouldn’t make no sense.
First one they got is called Charlie Bone and the Time Twister. That’s where it all kicks off. Charlie, he’s just a young’un, and he finds out he can hear pictures talkin’! Can ya believe that? Pictures talkin’! Sounds like somethin’ my old grandma used to say, bless her heart.
Then comes Charlie Bone and the Invisible Boy. See, Charlie, he goes to this school, Bloor’s Academy, and it’s full of kids with all sorts of strange talents. Some can make fire, some can go invisible, all sorts of craziness. This invisible boy, well, he’s got his own problems, and Charlie, he tries to help him out. That’s just the kind of boy he is, always tryin’ to do the right thing, even if it gets him in trouble.

Now, these books, they ain’t just about magic and stuff. There’s this bad family, the Bloors, and they’re always up to no good. They run that school, Bloor’s Academy, and they’re tryin’ to control everything. Charlie and his friends, they gotta stop ’em. It’s like them old cowboy movies, good guys versus bad guys, but with magic thrown in.
And there’s this Red King fella, they talk about him a lot. Seems like Charlie and some other kids are related to him, and that’s why they got these powers. It’s a whole family history thing, like them folks who go on and on about their grandpappy who fought in some war. Cept this war is with magic and bad guys, not guns and cannons.
Charlie Bone and the Beast, that’s the third one. This time, there’s a beast runnin’ around, and Charlie’s gotta figure out how to stop it. It ain’t easy, let me tell ya. These books, they keep ya on the edge of yer seat, wonderin’ what’s gonna happen next.
Then you got Charlie Bone and the Castle of Mirrors and Charlie Bone and the Hidden King. Things get more complicated in these ones. More magic, more bad guys, more trouble for Charlie. He’s always sneakin’ around, tryin’ to uncover secrets and save the day. Reminds me of my nephew, always gettin’ into mischief, but he means well, just like Charlie.
Charlie Bone and the Wilderness Wolf, that one’s got a wolf in it, ya see? Not just any wolf, a magical one. And then there’s Charlie Bone and the Shadow, or sometimes they call it Charlie Bone and the Shadow of Badlock. This Count Harken fella, he’s a real nasty piece of work, and he’s comin’ after Charlie and his family. It’s a real nail-biter, that one.
And last but not least, you got Midnight for Charlie Bone. That’s the end of the whole shebang. I won’t spoil it for ya, but it all comes to a head in this one. Good versus evil, ya know? And Charlie, he’s right in the middle of it all.
So, if you’re gonna read these books, make sure ya read ’em in order. It’ll make a whole lot more sense that way. Start with Charlie Bone Book 1, that Time Twister one, and work yer way through. It’s a good story, even for an old woman like me. Reminds me of the stories my grandma used to tell, full of magic and adventure.
And don’t forget, this ain’t just some kids’ stuff. It’s got somethin’ for everyone. Good versus evil, friendship, family, all that good stuff. So, go on, give it a read. You might just surprise yerself.
