Well, folks, Season 2 of “From” kicks off with all kinds of wild things happening, and let me tell ya, it ain’t for the faint-hearted. The first episode sure don’t waste no time getting into the thick of things. You know how it is, when the folks over in that little town try to keep things together, but boy, do things just keep falling apart.
So, the episode starts up, and we see Ellis taking charge—he’s trying to make sense of everything going on. Now, Julie’s in a bad way, and Ellis helps her out, gatherin’ the men who ain’t too scared to pitch in. You got a whole bunch of folks scrambling to do what they can to help, and even when things get real ugly, Ellis don’t back down. Right when you think things might calm down, here comes Kenny and Donna. They show up, and wouldn’t ya know it, Kenny gets to work opening up the diner. Folks are tryin’ to make things work, but there’s a real sense of dread hanging over the place.
And just when you think it can’t get worse, the Winter’s comin’, and it’s got that cold, eerie feeling to it. The first sign of it in Season 2 hits us, and let me tell ya, the cold is more than just the weather. It’s like somethin’ is comin’ for the people in this town, somethin’ big and bad.
Now, Jim, bless his heart, he’s been through the wringer. He’s down in the trenches, tryin’ to save his wife. He gets help from the bartender and a couple of the fellas off the bus. They work hard to clear away the rubble, but it’s like the house has a mind of its own—every time they move, it shakes and shudders like it’s about to cave in. They try to get out, but wouldn’t you know it, the place comes down on top of ‘em, trapping three poor souls inside. It’s chaos. But that ain’t the worst of it.
The thing with the chime box… oh, that thing is trouble. There’s somethin’ wrong with it. Every time it rings, bad things happen. People start going into a trance, like they’re in a deep coma or somethin’. It’s not just a state of sleep—it’s a slow death. The town’s folks don’t know what to make of it, but they know that when the chime box rings, trouble follows. And in the last bit of the episode, the sheriff, bless his soul, takes a torch to that cursed chime box. But is it too late? Who knows…
The thing is, the actors really bring their A-game here. Every little scare feels more real ‘cause the folks on screen feel like they’ve been through the same hardships. But let me tell ya, it’s the actor playing Perrineau who really steals the show. He’s got a way of drawing you in, and you can’t help but watch him as he takes over every scene. He makes you feel the fear and confusion, and it’s like you’re right there with him. It’s the kind of performance that sticks with ya long after the credits roll.
Oh, and don’t go thinkin’ this is all jump scares and no substance. No sir. There’s real tension, real fear. You’ll find yourself jumpin’ outta your seat a time or two, and the stakes are high, real high. People’s lives are at risk, and it’s hard to say who’s gonna make it out alive.
So, to wrap it up, Season 2’s first episode don’t let up. It’s got everything—a bit of horror, a bit of mystery, and a whole lotta tension. You won’t be able to look away, trust me. So, if you ain’t started watchin’ yet, you best get to it, ’cause this season is only gonna get wilder from here on out!
