Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this Jamul place, down in San Diego way. Folks are always talkin’ ’bout buyin’ houses there, so I figured I’d poke around and see what all the fuss is about. Don’t know much ’bout fancy house-buyin’ stuff, but I can tell ya what I see.
Seems like a lot of folks wanna live in Jamul. I hear tell there’s been a bunch of houses sold there lately. Sold! Just like that! Makes ya wonder what’s so special ’bout it, right?
They got all sorts of houses, big and small. Some got three bedrooms, some got four. Heck, some even got more! And the pictures they show, my oh my! Mountains and valleys all around. Pretty as a picture, they say. Makes ya wanna just sit on the porch and drink some sweet tea, ya know?
- They got houses with big yards, acres and acres some of ’em. Plenty of room for the grandkids to run around, I reckon.
- And they got these fancy words, like “meticulously maintained.” Sounds like they keep things nice and tidy.
- Some places, they call ’em “sanctuaries.” Like a church or somethin’. Guess it means they’re peaceful and quiet.
Now, they talk about prices too. Lots of numbers and dollar signs. Some houses cost a whole heap of money, some a little less. Median price, they call it, is somethin’ like seven hundred and forty-nine thousand dollars. That’s a lot of chickens, lemme tell ya! Don’t even know if a person could count that high if you sat down and tried real hard.
But it ain’t all sunshine and roses, I hear. Seems like some folks had some spooky things happen in Jamul. Spirits and hauntings, they say. One fella, Torrence Temple, he talked ’bout a haunted house next door to his place. Scared him and his family somethin’ awful, I bet. Makes you think twice, dont it? Maybe stick with my old place. Less ghosts that way. At least i hope.
And then there’s this TV show, somethin’ ’bout suburban screams. They even made an episode ’bout Jamul. Talked ’bout ghosts and demons and such. Gives me the shivers just thinkin’ about it. But then again, maybe it’s just stories, ya know? Folks like to tell tall tales sometimes.
But still, lots of folks wanna buy a house in Jamul. They got real estate folks, like Lisa Bruni and Tricia Welton, and Max Sandoval. They help folks find their dream homes. Dream homes! Sounds mighty nice, don’t it? Makes ya wonder what kinda dream they’re sellin’. Probably one with a good strong roof and plenty of space in the yard.
They got these websites too, like Zillow. They show ya all the houses for sale. Pictures and prices and all that. You can even filter it down, they say. Pick the price ya want, the size ya want, all that jazz. Technology these days, it’s somethin’ else.
So, there ya have it. Jamul, San Diego. Pretty houses, big yards, maybe some ghosts. Lots of folks buyin’ and sellin’. Sounds like a busy place. Don’t know if I’d wanna live there myself, what with all them spirits and such. But hey, to each their own, I always say. If you got the money and the guts, maybe Jamul’s the place for you.
Anyways, that’s what I’ve heard ’bout them houses down there. Take it with a grain of salt, though. I’m just an old woman, what do I know? But I can tell ya this much: a house is just a house, it’s the people inside that make it a home. So, whether you live in Jamul or Timbuktu, just make sure you got good folks around ya. That’s all that really matters, ya know?
And make sure the roof don’t leak and the furnace keeps the place warm. Them are important too, I reckon.
