Okay, so I’ve been on this HUGE “Beautiful Disaster” kick lately. You know, that Travis Maddox, bad-boy-with-a-heart-of-gold vibe? I just couldn’t get enough! So, I decided I needed to find more books like it. Here’s how my whole search went down.
First, I hit up Goodreads. I figured that was the easiest place to start. I typed in “Beautiful Disaster” and scrolled through the “Readers Also Enjoyed” section. I jotted down a few titles that sounded promising, mostly ones with covers that looked similar – you know, intense-looking couples, dark backgrounds, that kind of thing. I’m a sucker for a good cover.
Then, I moved on to some book blogs. I just googled things like “books like Beautiful Disaster” and “new adult romance recommendations.” I found a bunch of lists, and I started comparing them to the titles I already had from Goodreads. If a book popped up on multiple lists, I figured it was probably worth checking out.
I also checked out some book forums. It is always fun to read other’s comments.
After I had a pretty solid list, I headed over to Amazon. I like to read the reviews there, especially the negative ones, just to get a balanced perspective. I added a few more books to my “to-read” list based on those reviews, and I removed a couple that sounded like they might be too cheesy or repetitive.
Finally, I ended up with this list of books.
- Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire (obviously, had to read the sequel!)
- Easy by Tammara Webber
- Slammed by Colleen Hoover
- The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski
- Wait for You by J. Lynn/Jennifer L. Armentrout
I’ve already started reading “Easy”,and so far, so good! I am excited to get it done and find my next read in my *’s got that same kind of angsty, passionate vibe as “Beautiful Disaster,” so I’m pretty happy with my search results. I’ll probably keep tweaking my list as I go, but for now, I’ve got plenty of reading material to keep me busy!
