Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to find some movies similar to “How to Be Single” for a while now, and I finally got around to doing it. I thought I’d share my little adventure with you all.
First, I went on a hunt for some websites that could help me with this. I mean, there are tons of these recommendation sites out there. I stumbled upon a few like *, *, *, *. These seemed to rely on what other people liked, you know, social recommendations. Then there were and , which felt a bit more personal, like they were trying to figure out what I’d like based on my mood. I also checked out Metacritic and RottenTomatoes, just to see what the critics and hardcore movie buffs were saying. It’s a mixed bag, but it gave me some ideas.
Then, I dug a little deeper into movie rankings and stuff. I found out that “Citizen Kane” was like, the top dog in some polls for a long time. And “The Godfather”? That one seems to be a movie that almost everyone agrees is awesome. It’s even number 2 on the IMDB top 250 list. I know some people love to hate on “The Shawshank Redemption,” which is number 1 there, but whatever, to each their own, right?
I came across this one post that was specifically asking for movies like “How to Be Single”. It got me thinking, “Yeah, what’s next after that movie?” So, I started looking at the tags and stuff. Apparently, there are like 71 films similar to it. Who knew? I found this site called Letterboxd. It’s made by some folks in New Zealand, and they use data from TMDb. Pretty cool.
I also browsed around Netflix, iTunes, and Amazon to see what they had that was similar. You know, just typing in “How to Be Single” and seeing what popped up in the “You might also like” section. Gotta love those algorithms, huh?
There was this one movie, “Someone Great,” that someone recommended. They said it was super similar, and it has Gina Rodriguez, who I think is great. So, I added that to my list. And then “The Pretty One,” which is about mistaken identity, I think. It sounded interesting, so I jotted that down too.
Oh, and I found this site called Filmaffinity. It’s like a social network for movies, where you can vote and get recommendations, and even keep a diary of what you’ve watched. I spent some time there, just exploring.
So, after all that, I’ve got a pretty decent list of movies to check out. It’s a mix of comedies and dramas, all about love and life. I’m excited to watch them and see if they give me the same vibe as “How to Be Single.”
It was quite the journey, hopping from one site to another, reading reviews, and making my list. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right? Finding new stuff to watch. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some movies to catch up on.

I might not be a professional reviewer, but I sure had a blast playing detective with all these movies. Hope this helps someone else out there looking for their next movie fix!
