So, I’ve been playing Destiny 2 for a while now, and I gotta say, it’s been a wild ride. The other day, I got this email from Bungie, you know, the guys who made the game. It was like a recap of all the crazy stuff I’ve been up to in the game this past year. I was like “Oh it’s just the recap email.” I mean, I knew it’s a big deal, just not for me. But it did get me thinking about all those epic moments and, yeah, maybe a few facepalms along the way.
First off, I opted in to get these emails from Bungie ages ago, and I don’t regret it. It’s kinda cool to see all those stats and remember the good times. They call it the “Destiny 2 Journey” email, which sounds pretty grand, right? But it’s just a fun little trip down memory lane.
My Year in Review
- Getting Started: I remember when I first started playing, I was all over the place. I had no idea what I was doing. But hey, we all start somewhere, right?
- Teaming Up: One thing that really stood out in the email was who I played with the most. Let’s just say there were some familiar names in there. It did remind me of my ex though, not gonna lie, she was my top fireteam member. Good old times!
- Big Moments: There’s this thing called “Moments of Triumph,” which is like a yearly event where you get to celebrate all your big wins. This year it started on January 30, 2024, and let me tell you, it was a blast.
I saw some folks online talking about how Bungie was handling these recap emails. Apparently, there was a bit of a mix-up with how they were sharing everyone’s stats. But from what I heard, they listened to the feedback and sorted it out. It’s pretty cool to see a game company actually pay attention to what the players are saying. I mean, Bungie did change their mind about the sporadic lines in Destiny, and also reversed their decision again in Forsaken, which proved that they really listen to us.
Looking back at my own stats, it’s been a wild year in Destiny 2. I’ve had some epic wins, some hilarious fails, and everything in between. And you know what? I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
