Okay, so I’ve been on this kick lately trying to find games similar to “Date Ariane.” You know, that dating sim with, ahem, adult themes? Yeah, that one. I got hooked on the interactive story and, well, let’s just say the “visuals” were compelling. So, I wanted more.
First, I jumped onto Google. Typed in “games like Date Ariane.” I scrolled through a bunch of forum posts and articles, most of which were pretty useless. Lots of people asking the same question, but not many solid answers. A lot of generic dating sim recommendations, which, you know, wasn’t exactly what I was looking for.
Then I decided to get a little more specific. I started searching for things like “adult dating sims” and “interactive fiction with mature content.” That yielded some slightly better results, but still a lot of wading through stuff that wasn’t quite right.
I remembered that “Date Ariane” was built with Ren’Py, a visual novel engine. So, I thought, “Hey, maybe I should look for other games made with the same engine!”
So that’s when find other game that made with Ren’* this time I can search the game that have the same tag like dating sim, visual novel, or adult.
I found a few that looked promising, with similar art styles or themes. I downloaded a couple of demos and free versions to test them out. Some were okay, some were… not so great. It’s really hit or miss with these indie games, you know?
I also stumbled across some websites dedicated to adult games. I spent a good chunk of time browsing their catalogs, reading reviews, and looking at screenshots. That’s where I discovered a few titles that seemed to be in the same vein as “Date Ariane.” They had that interactive story element, branching choices, and, of course, the adult content.

- Another one had a surprisingly engaging story.
- And third just fun to play.
I ended up playing a few of these games for a couple of hours each. Some I finished, others I kind of lost interest in after a while. It’s like any other genre, really – some are good, some are bad, and some are just… okay. But it was definitely fun exploring and finding some hidden gems.
