Capital Murder Case Update: Mason Abraham and Second Suspect in Custody

Well, let me tell you somethin’ ’bout this capital murder thing with that young fella, Mason Abraham. Heard it on the news, the telly was blarin’ somethin’ fierce. Folks ’round here say he’s just a young’un, barely got any hair on his chin, and now they sayin’ he done somethin’ awful, somethin’ real bad.

They sayin’ he and another fella, Ferrod McCoy, that’s his name, they went and shot somebody. Shot ’em dead, they did. Killed a man named Broderick Bluford, poor soul. Thirty-two years old, just a young man himself, probably had a family and all. Makes you sick to your stomach, it does.

Now, I ain’t no lawyer, don’t know nothin’ about the law and such. But they callin’ it “capital murder”. Sounds fancy and scary all at once. Means they gonna throw the book at him, they say. Could mean the death penalty, they say. Land sakes, imagine that. A young boy like that, facin’ the death chair.

  • They sayin’ it happened in Little Rock. Big city, that place. Lot of trouble goes on in big cities, that’s for sure. Always hearin’ about somethin’ bad happenin’ there. Shootins’ and robbins’ and all sorts of carryin’ on.
  • This unlawful discharge of a firearm thing, they talkin’ about that too. Sounds like they were shootin’ from a car, like them gangsters in them movies. Just drivin’ around, shootin’ at folks. What kinda world we livin’ in, huh?

The police, they caught ’em, though. Little Rock Police Department, they did their job. Can’t say nothin’ bad about them. They gotta keep the peace, gotta keep us safe. Even if it means takin’ in young fellas like this Mason Abraham.

Heard some folks sayin’ he was a good boy, just got mixed up with the wrong crowd. Said he was always polite, always said “yes ma’am” and “no sir”. But then again, you never really know what’s goin’ on in someone’s head, do ya? Folks can put on a good face, but inside they might be full of somethin’ dark. Homicide ain’t somethin’ to be taken lightly.

It’s a sad, sad story, this whole thing. A young man dead, another young man facin’ the gallows, and families on both sides torn apart. Nothin’ good comes from violence, nothin’ at all. Just heartache and pain and a whole lotta wasted lives.

They had a tweet about it, the police did. That’s how folks find out about things these days, all that internet stuff. I don’t know nothin’ about that, but my grandson showed me. Said the police put out a tweet sayin’ they arrested them boys. Guess that’s how the world works now.

20 years old, that’s all Mason Abraham is. Barely a man. And Ferrod McCoy, 22 years old. Two young lives, thrown away. For what? A moment of anger? A stupid mistake? It ain’t worth it, not ever.

This capital murder charge, it’s a heavy thing. Weighs down on your soul just thinkin’ about it. Hope they get to the bottom of it, hope the truth comes out. And hope that maybe, just maybe, somethin’ good can come outta all this bad. But I ain’t holdin’ my breath, I tell ya. This world’s got a way of breakin’ your heart, over and over again.

They are facing charges, both Mason and Ferrod. It is said that there is evidence from a car and things are not looking too good. Justice needs to be done for Mr. Broderick Bluford and his family.
