Alright, listen up, y’all. You wanna find some TV shows like that Family Guy, huh? That cartoon with the fat fella and the talking dog? Well, I’ve watched a fair bit of TV in my time, even if I don’t always know what’s goin’ on. Let me tell ya, there’s a bunch of ’em out there, some good, some… well, not so good.
First off, you got that American Dad! show. Same fella made it, the Family Guy fella, so you know it’s gonna be kinda similar. It’s about this family, the Smiths. Stan, the dad, he’s a bit of a nutjob, works for the government or somethin’. Then there’s Francine, his wife, she’s the sensible one, mostly. And their kids, Hayley and Steve, they’re always gettin’ into trouble. They got a talking fish too, instead of a dog. Goes by the name of Klaus. It’s funny, I guess, if you like that kinda humor. You know, lots of jokes and silly stuff. They been makin’ that show for a long time now, so there’s plenty to watch.
Then there’s this show called Archer. Now, this one’s a bit different. It ain’t about a family, not really. It’s about this spy guy, Archer, and he’s always gettin’ into trouble, drinkin’ and womanizin’. He’s got a bunch of weird coworkers, and they all just yell at each other a lot. It’s got lots of them one-liners, you know, those quick jokes that make you chuckle. And catchphrases, they got a bunch of those too. People are always sayin’ the same things over and over, kinda like that Family Guy, with Peter always sayin’ “Giggity” or whatever. It’s a bit more grown-up, though, with more adult themes. So if you don’t mind that kind of thing, you might like it.
Now, somebody told me about this Game of Thrones show. Said it was real popular. I tried watchin’ it once, but Lord have mercy, it was confusing! Too many people, too many swords, and too much… well, you know. It ain’t a cartoon, that’s for sure. And it ain’t really a comedy either, though some of them characters are funny in their own way. But it’s got that same kinda… I don’t know… edge to it. Like Family Guy, it ain’t afraid to be shocking or offensive sometimes. But honestly, I don’t know why anyone would compare it to Family Guy. Maybe it’s because it has so many characters or episodes. They made a lot of them, like 47 or somethin’, I heard.
Let’s see, what else… Oh yeah, there’s a whole bunch of family TV series you can watch. They ain’t all like Family Guy, mind you. Some are more serious, some are more sweet. But they’re all about families, so that’s somethin’ in common, I reckon. You got your sitcoms, your dramas, even some of them reality shows, though I don’t understand why anyone would want to watch those. If you want somethin’ light and funny, there’s plenty out there. Just search for “family TV shows” on that internet thingy, and you’ll find a whole heap of ‘em. You can watch ‘em anytime, anywhere, they say. On your phone, on your computer, on that fancy TV box thing. It’s a whole new world, ain’t it?
- American Dad! – Same creator, similar humor, different family, talking fish instead of a dog.
- Archer – Spy show, lots of one-liners and catchphrases, more adult humor.
- Game of Thrones – Not a comedy, but has a similar edge and lots of characters, very popular, but not really like Family Guy if you ask me.
- Family TV Series – Lots of different shows about families, some funny, some serious, easy to find and watch.
So there ya have it. A few shows that might tickle your fancy if you like that Family Guy show. But don’t blame me if you don’t like ‘em. Everybody’s got their own taste, I always say. Just try ‘em out, see what you think. And if you don’t like ‘em, well, there’s always more shows out there. Just keep lookin’ ‘til you find somethin’ you enjoy.
