Okay, so the other day I was really missing “The Unit.” You know, that show about the super-secret Delta Force guys? I loved the action, the brotherhood, the whole covert ops thing. So, I decided I had to find something similar to fill that void.
First, I just started brainstorming. I made a list of what I really liked about “The Unit”:
- Intense Action: Lots of gunfights, explosions, the works.
- Military/Special Ops Focus: I wanted something grounded in reality, not sci-fi.
- Teamwork and Camaraderie: The bond between the characters was a huge part of the appeal.
- Covert Missions: The secrecy and high-stakes nature of their operations were awesome.
Then, I got to work. And did some searching on the web to see what pops up. I typed stuff like, “‘The Unit’ similar shows” and “best military action shows”.
Then I refined my search, checking out some forums and discussions where people were talking about shows they liked. I figured that’d give me some more “insider” recommendations, you know, from people who were actually fans of these types of shows.
I also looked into a few shows I’d heard of before, but never really checked out, to see if they fit the bill. Reading episode summaries and checking the settings for the story and characters.
Finally, I made my own shortlist. I picked a couple of shows that seemed the most promising, based on all my “research.”
So I decided to start with one I’d find to watch the first episode. I figured if I didn’t like the pilot, I could just move on to the next one. No big deal. It’s all about experimenting, right?
It was a pretty fun little project, actually. I felt like a detective myself, tracking down the perfect show. And I like the first episode and keep on watching the show!
