Okay, so the other day I was trying to find some movies similar to “Despicable Me 3”. My kids loved it, and I wanted to keep the good times rolling with something in the same ballpark. Here’s how I went about it.
The Initial Brain Dump
First, I just sat down and thought, “What do I actually like about Despicable Me 3?” I made a quick list:
- Funny characters: Gru, the Minions, the girls… they’re all hilarious.
- Family-friendly: Gotta be something the whole crew can watch.
- Action-packed, but not scary: Lots of exciting stuff, but nothing that’ll give the little ones nightmares.

Digging Around Online
I’m use the goole to search some * I typed in some searches like:
- “movies like despicable me 3”
- “animated movies with funny villains”
- “family action comedy movies”
I started, just see what other people were recommending, and I found some other intresting.
Then I realized, I should look for movies by the same animation studio, Illumination. They made “Despicable Me,” so they probably have other stuff we’d like. I found their list of movies and jotted down a few that looked promising.
Narrowing It Down
After all that, I ended up with a list.
